Is your favorite resort the one you own at?

Just curious.

My personal favorite is the Boardwalk. This place reminds me of a certain memory (with my husband) and will have a special place in my heart. However this is not where I purchased DVC...I own at two others actually.

What is your favorite resort, and is it where you own? Anyone have any special memories at your favorite place?

I have two favorite resorts - VWL (I love being close to MK and to relax in the rocking chairs and the beautiful Christmas decorations) and BCV (I wanted to be near Epcot and MGM, love Stormalong Bay, it's another relaxing home)

I couldn't decide which one to buy at.... so I bought both

They don't have DVC at AKL so no we do not own at our favorite resort. We do own at OKW and BCV because they were the ones we wanted to stay at the most.

We own at VWL......and BWV. Both contracts are about the same size.


So my answer is yes, I own at my favorite resort.

And yes, I own at my favorite resort.

Without a doubt. I own at BWV and I absolutely love this resort. I like all the WDW resorts and stay in many of them several times each year, but without a doubt my favorite for many reasons is BWV. I purposely waited for DVC to build a resort that was an Epcot resort and was more conveniently located to parks, dining options etc and I could not have been more pleased when BWV opened. I saw BWV for the first time the evening before we were leaving WDW and within 2 days I bought over the phone and have never regretted it for a single moment.
I at one time thought about adding on pts at VWL or BCV but realized that although I like these resorts very much, BWV will most likely always be my favorite and the resort where we will stay the majority of DVC trips. So instead, I have bought all my pts at BWV and I am thrilled. Plus it makes life so much easier having all my pts at one resort.

Love, love, love my Boardwalk. Own at the Boardwalk and can't wait to get back home.

I have a great picture of my son sleeping in the living room with Spaceship Earth illuminated in the background. We stayed at Old Key West once but it was too far removed from all that's Disney. At the Boardwalk, I feel that I'm right in the middle of everything.

Of course I'd absolutely love it they opened a DVC in the upper levels of Cinderella's Castle....

We fell in love with OKW and when we debated on buying into DVC there was no hesitation where we wanted to buy into. So we purchased OKW on a resale. And have not regreted it a minute. WE JUST LOVE OKW.

We own at Boardwalk and it is my favorite DVC resort! We're always up for trying new things so we've done VWL already (really didn't care for it), doing OKW in May (looking forward to that), and I'm sure some day we'll do BCV as well.

We own at OKW and BCV. Have yet to try BCV - then again, the only other Disney hotel we have stayed in is Port Orleans (well it was Dixie Landings when we stayed here).

Our favorite on-site resorts- the Poly, AKL, and WL.
We own points at VWL and VB.
We would buy points in a New York minute at the Poly or AKL, but we are very happy to have points at one of our favorites, VWL.
We also LOVE VB, and are happy to have points there.

Own pts at VB+OKW. We like having the 11 month window at WDW and oceanfront..........especially for the Beach Cottages at VB and GV's at OKW.

Nope, we own at VWL, but love OKW and BCV. However, our initial purchase was VWL because that was what was for sale at the time, and we didn't know about resales. But after one trip, DH fell in love with OKW. On my first solo trip as a DVC owner, I stayed at BCV, loved it, and then did an add-on there. I'm a big proponent of "If possible, try out a resort before you buy there-and check out the DVC board before you buy-you'll definitely learn some things!"

Yes! We own at BCV. A very close second for me is the VWL, and we may do an add-on there at some point. I originally bought 300 points at the BCV (from Disney), and I kind of wish I had worked it so I could have had 150 BCV points and 150 VWL points. But I'm very happy with our BCV contract. I think BC is overall my favorite because of the location and just the feel of the place - its really relaxing.

I would have to say that my favorite resort is the Beach Club, because DH and I went there on our honeymoon(to the hotel, not the DVC...it wasn't built there yet!). Anyhow, I do love that whole Beach Club/Boardwalk/Epcot area. We own at OKW because it was the least expensive when we bought. I have to say, I do like OKW and never have a problem staying there either.

We own at BWV but like OKW just as well, for different reasons. We bought BWV because, like Simba's Mom, that was what Disney had for sale at the time and we didn't know about this board or resale sites. Considering that we did no research, just purchased on a whim, we feel lucky that we are 100% happy. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't remember, plan, and miss our DVC vacations.

Can't say yet, but I suspect we'll love SSR. However, if BWV would have been offered at $79/ point from Disney at the same time, probably would have taken that. I know I could have done resale if I was set on BWV, but I love the DTD location of SSR, so it was kind of a toss up anyway. Plus, the extra 12 years is a bonus.
