I'm curious if YOAMD has already ended and the year of celebration is in now in full swing or if the change didn't happen until the beginning of the year. Does anybody know?

Officially, the Year of a Million Dreams continues through 31 December. The Disney Dreams Giveaway will continue until then, and the YoaMD decorations should be up until about November, when they start decking everything out for Christmas (though they might also be up through the end of the year).
On the other hand, since the announcement last month, and particularly since the Miley Cyrus party, the DLR's marketing efforts are now focused on the whole "What will you celebrate?" angle. All of our Press Releases refer to that rather than the YoaMD. The current commercial for HalloweenTime in the Southern Californian and other markets is utlizing the "WWYC" theme music.
At this point, the Year of a Million Dreams is definitely winding down. I would be surprised if you hear any mention of it by Christmas time, with the exception of the Disney Dreams Giveaway, which legally has to continue until 31 December lest it violate it's own rules.
