Is WDW a Coke or Pepsi park?

Well, I was 100% a coke person. Never really cared for Pepsi(and thats what we have where I work). However, I quit drinking soda in January (at least sugared sodas) so it matters not to me now. Diet Colas just taste awful to me.

Although I am sure that Disney goes with the best deal it can, it just seem s"righT' for it to be coke there. Not sure how to explain it otherwise.

I'm a diet pepsi addict and My son should run a Mountain Dew franchise. One of the reasons we take our own vehicle on the autotrain is so we can stay Pepsi-supplied :-)

When we were in Coke restaurant the server asked my son, "We don't have pepsi products, would Sprite be okay?" He had not yet caffeine and snarled, "Do I LOOK like Sprite would be okay?"

I don't really like either :) But I've never been able to tell the difference between Pepsi and Coca Cola anyway...

This post is just so funny. I read the title and said to myself, why are there 3 pages of posts for a two word answer!?

I don't know about the company vs bottler but I go with how the groceries put them on sale. When Coke products go on sale they include Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Mr. Pibb and usually A&W & Sunkist. Pepsi sales usually include Pepsi, Diet, Mt. Dew (& the 4 or 5 flavors of it???), Slice, and Nestea. Perhaps this is just coincidence rather than same manufacturer.

As a Diet Coke addict, I laughed when I read mariamouse's reply. Nothing against you at all; there's just an obvious difference to those who drink a lot of soda. The way I've seen it described is that Coke has a crisp taste while Pepsi is a bit sweeter.

I think I'm a minority soft drink consumer - I like both Caffeine-Free Diet Pepsi and Caffeine-Free Diet Coke.

I guess I'm going to have to make that grocery run and include my favorite beverage (caffeine-free diet pepsi).

Fortunately my dd7 likes water :teeth:

disney4us2002,

The Dr. Pepper and 7 Up brands are owned by Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up. This company was formed in 1986 as a merger between the two like named companies. They were then bought by London, UK based candy and beverage giant Cadbury Schweppes in 1995. Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up Inc. also has a license to market Sunkist brand orange soda from the California/Arizona based citrus grower cooperative of the same name. Cadbury Schweppes already owned the rights to market A&W Root Beer in the US when they bought Dr. Pepper/Seven-up.

Carla, funny but we are a coke family and we always felt that Coke is sweeter! When a fountain coke tastes funny I always think they are just not putting enough syrup in it, and this happens everywhere IMO. Of course, WDW water tastes fine to us but that's another thread. I always thought Pepsi and Coke should not waste one dime advertising, people prefer one or the other and there is NO changing their mind. I can drink pepsi or diet if I have to but DH refuses, he would rather have water! Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, Mr. Pibb and all those taste like cherry cough syrup to me...YUCK! Of course, a good sweet tea always hits the spot...we are originally southerners, so I agree that decent tea would be good at WDW too!!!!

It's Coke all the way, as far as I'm concerned! ! ! ::yes:: I am a Coke Classic fanatic and my DH is a Diet Pepsi fanatic. As for our two boys, one prefers Coke, the other Pepsi. I absolutely love to rub it in that Disney, our favorite place, sells Coke, my favorite drink! ! :hyper:

It's PEPSI--PEPSI--PEPSI in our family!! We either bring our own supply when we drive or make a fast trip to the grocery store. DH couldn't make it through two weeks without Pepsi. We tolerate Coke in the parks because we have no other choice. :-(

Diet Coke addict here............
I also love Ice Station Cool at Epcot. Would it be wrong to bring my refillable mug there?;) :p :teeth:

Do the rest of us a favor and fill it with Beverly

No Pepsi - Coke!!

I am a Coke person, DH is a Pepsi Person, DD Loves Dr Pepper, but will drink Coke or Mr. Pibb/Pibb Xtra.

DH does LOVE Beverly at Ice Station Cool and would love to be able to purchase it here. :crazy2:

The Diet Coke is not ALL caffeine-free. Most of the parks have the regular, but some of the fountains, especially at EPCOT, have the caffeine-free. The best way to tell is to look at the fountain - if the Diet Coke sign is silver, you are getting caffeine, if gold, you are not. Nothing worse than having to drink diet coke and not even getting any caffeine!!!

You can get a variety of drinks at the gas station in DD, but if memory serves, you have to go off property to get Pepsi products. We usually go to Goodings. Scary that I have picked up this much about soft drinks!Have fun! Sus:)

I use to not care if it was either coke or pepsi......not until fairly recently I kind of gotten addicted to PEPSI.

Now.....I don't care which it is if it comes from a fountain(tastes A LOT sweeter) but I cannot drink bottled coke anymore. I just don't like the taste of it, it's kind of weird to me:)

My best friend was dying for any "yellow" drink....be it Mountain Dew, Sun drop....ANYTHING, but none of the restaurants we went to had it. But Disney would be perfect if they had some North Carolina Sweet tea. Yummy!!!!

My one & only disappointment in WDW is that they don't serve my Diet Pepsi ANYWHERE. I must admit to being an addict:hyper: , so we usually find a grocery store outside Disney property and stock-up. I carry a large purse, so I can usually sneak a bottle or two into the parks

If only they sold Pepsi..........then Disney would be 100% perfect! :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Just to agree with those that state that the bottler is the key to who sells what. In our area, the Pepsi bottler is where you get Dr. Pepper, 7UP and Sunkist. I know this because for years I ran the local little league concession stand and dealt with the Pepsi distributor. (Also know that we used the local water in the fountain machine.)

I like both Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper. So I can be happy at WDW drinking the Diet Coke.

The tea is another matter ENTIRELY! That Nescafe is terrible IMHO.

I am a southerner. We like our tea, and that tea at WDW is no tea! I've given up ordering iced tea anywhere outside the south - and Orlando, FL doesn't seem to qualify at the south (at least when counting it as "Southern"). I have had one good glass of tea in WDW: Liberty Tree Tavern. It must not be Nescafe - or they prepare it differently, because it was pretty good. On a side note (concerning being Southern), our last trip down we were at 50s Prime Time Cafe when my 'big sister' chastised me for not eating my green beans. I said, "I'm really sorry, but I'm from Alabama - we cook our green beans until done there." She laughed and said she was from northern FL herself and she felt the same way!!::yes:: No need to debate the virtures of how to cook green beans, I realize people from other parts of the country must like them that way because that is the way they are cooked there....to each his (or her) own!:D

WDW is already perfect. They sell COKE!!! My in-laws are Pepsi people. Oh the horror. I buy Pepsi about 3 or 4 times a year for them when they come over for dinner. I have a little saying about Pepsi. The only good thing about Pepsi is Mountain Dew. I agree w/ the poster who said the companys shouldn't bother w/ advertising cause people like what they like and that's it. I don't care how the package it up and what they have to give away I'm a Coca ~ Cola girl. It is my addiction. Seriously. Here I am all hyped up :hyper:

this thread is so funny, every time i go to disney i get so angry because they do not have pepsi, i am a diet pepsi addict and do not like coke at all, the rest of my family are coke lovers. i do remember a few years back universal had pepsi products and i would get so excited to go there just to have a pepsi. i even took a picture of a tub filled with pepsi i was so excited. now they switched to coke too ugh!
