Seeing that I will be dining at V & A's by myself. I'm thinking about doing the Chefs Table dinner.

I will be going there in January of 2004, so there should not be any problems getting a table 10 months in advance.

Anyways, is it worth the $115 price tag. I'm thinking at this time that it is not. Is there anything different from the regular dinner. This will be my first time dining at V & A's also.

Thanks

hhhmmm.....the chef's table is a dining experience. the chef will chat w/you about your likes and dislikes. those foods you do not care for will not be offered to you. we enjoyed the experience and have dined at the chef's table twice. i can't say whether you will enjoy it, but i can say you will not forget it. you can reserve the chef's table 180 days out.:p

When I'm paying over $100 for a dinner, I want the chef to bring out even the food that I don't like. Is the food the same as the regular dinner?

Thanks

V and A's all alone, surely not, I would volunteer! I have always wanted to dine there................

It might be more fun to do the chefs table..as there could be other people seated with you...someone to chat with and enjoy the meal with.

We got extra desserts...plenty of champagne to start..it was very nice.

The chef's table isn't shared with anyone else. If you book it it's for you and whomever you are dining with.

If I was going by myself I would opt for the chef's table vs the dining room, simply because the dining room is a very romantic setting and I don't think I would want to sit there by myself.

At the Chef's table you can get up and stand by the railing into the kitchen, speak with the chefs and assistants.

At the Chef's table you get at taste of everything on the menu vs the dining room where you have a choice at each course. You don't actually get a menu though, he will just bring out a bunch of different items through out the night. You will get a souvenier menu of the items you get at the end of the night.

At the Chef's table the chef will come over and toast you with champagne, ask likes and dislikes, allergies, etc.

As for whether or not it's worth the $$$--a personal question that you won't REALLY know the answer to until after you've done it. I think it was worth it the time we ate there.

And I agree that if you are dining alone, the Chef's Table would probably be a more interesting and interavctive experience. And in addition to the Chef(s) coming over, you're still waited on by an "Albert".

So far it looks like I will be dining at the chefs table, it really sounds great. Is the the courses that are served at the Chefs Table the same as the regular dinner. Also I read that only seating is at 6:00.

If so what time would you expect getting done with dinner. I'm hoping I could stay all night.

Thanks

Yep. Same menu. But as has been noted, you are "offered"almost everything on the menu, rather than just ordering one appetizer, one entree, etc. So if you're really hungry, you can really do some eating!! I know I was stuffed the nite we ate at the Chef's table, and I didn't have everything they offered!!
Our meal lasted from 6:00 until just after 9:30.
And I think there is but one seating and that's at 6:00---.

wow Mikey I have never considered V&A as I have always been told it is a couples place. I admire you. Now that you have asked your question I may have to go on my own as well. DH doesn't 'get' Disney but it pleases him so much to see me "get" it and enjoy myself. Let us know how it went. I will be checking. You have inspired me.

I figure if I go by myself it will save me another $115. It definently seems like it caters to couples for a romantic night. But, who says you can't have a romatic night by yourself.

Also the reason why I will be dining alone is because my parents will be dining there before me and I will be arriving a day before they leave. I have to show them up and eat at the chefs table to make them feel bad for leaving early LOL. I'll keep you posted pintrader.
