Is Toy Story Mania really worth the wait?

on multiple occasions and never regretted it. On our last trip this past December, my parents, in their 60's, waited with us for 75+ minutes, and after it was over, my mom said that that ride was the best thing she did all trip except for our Sunrise Safari at Animal Kingdom!!!! :goodvibes

let me just add that we are not morning people and the fast passes are always gone when we get there....

The line isn't long because the ride is great, the line is long because it is the only family ride in the park. Also, anyone who is a weenie, this is probably also the only major ride they are going to want to go on. If this ride was placed in Magic Kingdom, it would be way less popular.

You never need to wait in a long line for TSM if you plan your day correctly. Arrive before the park opens, as soon as the park opens head immediately over to TSM and grab a FP. As long as you get one as soon as you arrive (and be sure to arrive in the morning when they open), you should be able to grab a FP and head to something else until your time window comes up.

If by some chance you can't follow that plan, I would say it is worth waiting in line for-they have a great queue line that keeps you entertained while you wait :)

but we have 2 young kids I am not sure they would wait that long. We try to get there at rope drop and I go ahaead of them for fast passes and my wife and kids get in line. Once I have the fast passes I meet them in line. This way we get on twice in the same day. At rope drop the standby line was only about a 25 min wait (when we got there)

I think you might be looking at this the wrong way. It shouldn't be about how long the line is going to be, you should be thinking WHY is EVERYONE talking about it. Hundreds of thousands of people can't be wrong can they?

I love Toy Story and I love Buzz Lightyear but this is such a different and fun ride, cools you off as well. The line queue is very cute and it makes the time go by fairly quickly.

Don't go in thinking negatively about it, you want to have fun while on vacation and many of our fellow Dis'ers gave great info.

The best way to see it quickly and NOT wait long is follow the vacationers at rope drop....they basically all will be going in the same direction, its actually quite amazing to watch. You can't run, you walk in a quick pace and then it eventually splits in 2 big lines....families that just go straight for the ride, others go to FP first and then all get in line TOGETHER so that way they can ride it twice BECAUSE 9 times out of 10 they love it.

What I find to be fun was the Green Army men that were shouting orders at us and keeping us in line, cracked me up and actually surprised a few guests.

If you have never tried it, do it at least once.

I was there when it was new and decided to wait on that awful line. I'd never want to wait on a line that long again. Is it possible it was a 3 hour wait back then? That's what it felt like.

After riding I had forgotten about the wait because I really enjoyed it. Do your best to go on without having to wait more than 60 minutes.

Like everyone said it's a great ride but I would try to get there at rope drop and head to it to get your fastpasses and then try to get on it so you get a 2nd dose.

We waited a hour I believe and it was worth it. :)

I would get a fastpass. We waited over an hour for it the first time and the ride is overwith in a flash.

I agree with getting a FP, or else be there when the park opens and go straight over there and ride it. We all like TSM, but we don't wait more than 30 minutes for anything.

I love Love LOVE this ride! :lovestruc I will gladly wait for it! Hubby and I rode it 3 times during our anniversary trip! The first time I went to get fastpasses while my hubby was waiting for one of the shows. We liked it so much that we went back to HS another day at rope drop. I ran to get fastpasses and then hubby and I met up in line. We were able to ride it twice that day! It really is an awesome ride! And when Hubby likes it I know its good!

I don't think any ride is worth an hour wait. I really do like TSM, we use fastpasses so we've never waited that long. :thumbsup2

We are glad we did it, but we agreed that it is not something for us that is worth waiting for. We will get FastPasses for it and do it that way, but we would only wait in line if it were a pretty short wait.

I and my family think it's worth it each time...I'd say if you haven't done it, you have to do it atleast once.

Chris

No, not for my family.

We've been on it a couple times, only because we wanted to give it a second chance.

Wasn't worth it the frist time, and wasn't worth it the second time.

Last week we decided we would go on it if the wait time wasn't too long. Well, in the mad rush at rope drop, we decided to get a FP rather than go standby. Our return time was 1040 or something close to that, so we enjoyed some other rides and then got on quickly in the FP line. Glad we went, because the kids enjoyed it and were glad we didn't skip it this trip.

We would not have waited long because it's just not worth it to us.

Oh, it's completely awful. Everybody should skip Toy Story, especially in February 2011. Definitely not worth the wait.

i wouldn't wait in line for 45 minutes for the second coming!

Course, I am fat and lazy.... :happytv:
