Is Toy Story Mania really worth the wait?

We absolutely love this ride...but would never wait more than 30 minutes for it. It's FP all the way!

As much as I love TSM I would never wait in the standby line. Only once I did standby when I happened to be in the right spot when the ride came back online after an outage. Otherwise FastPass is your best bet, and remember to work the option where your FP is good all day long after the return time, not just during the one hour on the pass.

Earlier this year my company had a work event at DHS and I was lucky few of the conference attendees were interested in TSM. They all wanted to ride Rock 'n Roller Coaster. I got to ride TSM six times that night.

I don't wait in line for just about any ride. :) I do however LOVE TSM and think it is worth getting up early for rope drop so that you can ride it without waiting so long. When we were at WDW last week, there were practically no crowds anywhere BUT TSM had 120 min. wait. Did we wait 120 min. to ride? Heck no!! We got there at rope drop and walked quickly (no running) to TSM. We waited 5 min. to ride then got off and got fastpasses for later in the day. We came back for our fast pass time. Waited about 8 min. this time and got to ride it twice in the day for less than a 15 min. wait total. I think some people just don't plan things out and don't realize that you CAN ride these rides and still not have to wait in a really long line to do it. It doesn't have to be a choice of riding with a really long line or not doing it at all. With a little planning, you'll be able to ride it and not waste your whole day. :)

It is worth the wait if you haven't done it. Best advise is to get there when the park opens get a fast pass and also get on line right away

Honestly, the past two trips i haven't even attempted to ride TSMM. It is a fun ride and all, but i don't feel like killing myself and having to fight massive crowds to get onto it. If it has short lines this next trip i will ride it. I never really understood the intense hype of this ride. I would rather ride RnR over and over and over while others wait in line for TSMM!:goodvibes

It is a great attraction...but in no way would I wait two hours to ride it.

Your best bet...go there when the park opens (along with everyone else), grab you a fast pass, then get in line or vice-versa...

I agree in that it's worth the wait if you've never gone on it. Otherwise, if you don't have a FP, don't bother. The first time I went on it I had a FP and LOVED it. However, when I returned later that day to ride it again, the wait was over 100 minutes. Needless to say, I did not ride it again that day.

When you have ridden it a few times it is hard to justify waiting more than 40 - 45 minutes.

Not in my opinion it isn't . It is a great ride, but there are very few things I will wait over 30mins for , and TSMM is not one of them.

Go during a DHS EMH right before closing... the wait time will be reported at a lot longer than it actually is (i.e. wait time will show 60 minutes but the wait will be less than 15)... and you will practically walk on with no worries... btw with teenagers in your group you HAVE to go... this is the closest thing that WDW has to a live video game outside of Disney Quest... they will love it!

I think it's a fantastic attraction, one of our favorites. However, there is no ride that i would 'move heaven and earth' for.

If we weren't able to FP the ride in time, we would ony get in line if it were 45min or less. That goes for any attraction at WDW or DLCA

It's fun...more fun than I thought it would be. We grabbed FPs for it. Then right before we got on the ride some nice people in front of us gave us their FPs for later in the day since they weren't going to be able to use them. So we got to ride it twice using FP's and had a blast. But I don't think I'd wait in a long line...probably 20 minutes max to ride it again.

I have been on Toy Story Mania a few times and it's an amazing attraction, however when it's a 3 hour line and the Fast Passes are all gone for that day I am not sure it's worth the wait when you could be doing something else. My advice is get to Hollywood Studios for the park opening this way you can have a small time waiting in line or getting Fast Passes to return later, because they will eventually run out of them.

Yes it is! It is so much fun. We usually get fast passes AND wait in line so we can go on twice.

No, No, No, No.....No!

Unless....You have never been on it. Then disregard what I said previously, and throw it out with the bath water. Just make sure you don't toss the baby out along with the water.

This is the one ride we missed last time... I told Dh there is NO WAY I am missing it this time. I don't even know much about it... but I need to know why there is such a wait to get in. LOL!

I think it's worth waiting in the standby line at least once (if it says 60 min or less). All the line theming is in the standby line, and I think everyone should see Mr. Potatohead at least once.

No one in our family thinks so. If we can conveniently ride with FP we will. Usually we skip it because I won't do the mad race there for FP's. This year we had GAD FP and rode it once. We've skipped it several times.

I think it is "cute" but in no way a "must do" attraction.

We just got back and we'd never ridden it until this year. We were at HS around 4 p.m. and the wait was 30 minutes--so we waited in line (didn't seem like 30 minutes!) aaaandddd...We had a BLAST! It was a great ride--really fun and I hate video games so I was a little skeptical. We didn't ride it again since every other time we went by it was an hour+ wait and all the fastpasses were gone. I don't know if I'd wait 60+ minutes for it--but it was a VERY fun ride!

I don't even know much about it... but I need to know why there is such a wait to get in.

Here are a few reasons why I think the TSM line is so long:

1. It's a lot of fun.
2. The theming is top-notch, especially the queu area.
3. It's something the whole family can ride/ enjoy.
4. When you get off, you will immediately want to ride again to improve your score, either to beat your vehicle-mate or to improve your personal best.
5. It's addictive (see reason #4).

My best advice is to arrive early and/ or pray for rain. We went last Sept. on a rainy Saturday morning (with morning EMH) and rode TSM four times before noon. Two with FP's and two without. AND went on some other stuff in between!
