Is this your child?!

I contacted Disney because I wanted to express my concerns about the security aboard the Disney ships. The fact that there are no video cameras monitoring the hallways really makes me nervous. Especially when I think about leaving my luggage outside of my stateroom. This is the reply I received... very generic.

Dear Marci:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the YouTube videos posted online.
We too are concerned by the actions of these young guests. We take
these actions seriously and appreciate the time you took to share your
thoughts with us.

Please be assured that the safety and well-being of our guests have
always been of paramount importance to us. The information presented in
the videos has been reviewed with our Shipboard Officers and shoreside
security teams, who will follow up on these issues and handle
accordingly.

It is our hope the actions of this individual doesn't overshadow your
enjoyment of your upcoming Disney cruise vacation, as we look forward to
sailing with you later this year.

Sincerely,

George Parker

I received the EXACT same email when I sent that info to Disney as well:rotfl:. He must have received a great number of emails to create a formed response:thumbsup2

The Spin-O-Meter says he's trying to say he did Disney a favor. I'm sure it was a favor for all the other guests affected by his antics as well.

In a way it was a favor to us. I for one am quite thankful we will never be on the same boat as him.

Personally, I would like to know what other cruises he's been on.
I'm especially disturbed by the comment about "someone still swimming because he/she didn't give me that cigarette". Pure conjecture on my part, but it gives me the chills. Reminds me of Joran Van der Sloot. I truly hope all angles of this incident are thoroughly investigated.
I also hope to hear that Disney intends to install some sort of survallience cameras in the hallways! Before stumbling upon this thread, I would never have dreamed something like this could have occured on any cruise line - much less a Disney one.
We're scheduled for our very first cruise on the Dream next year. I will be paying very close attention to this subject until then - and will have no qualms cancelling, if need be. I'm not saying that I feel I need to do so now - just saying that I'll be looking for any other incidents and how they're handled. Thank you to the OP.

ME TOO!!!!! :worship:

What bothers me even more is that I have a DD15 who would've potentially been in the company of this young man in the Vibe (or whatever it is called on the Dream). His behaviors would have absolutely terrified her! Where do behaviors stop??!! SO VERY VERY SCARY!!!!

and I only saw 1 small snippet of his Youtube videos as they were all taken down when I tried to click on the links....
I am VERY happy though tha DCL has taken this so very seriously!! :thumbsup2

I did not get to see the videos mentioned in this thread, but have gotten the impression I am probably lucky. I just thought it was worth mentioning, to those who commented on the parenting skills of this individuals parents, that it is not always that clear cut. Good parenting does not always guarantee a good outcome. Not offering excuses, just personal observations over time that we have been unfortunate to learn of. Similarly, bad parenting does not always mean a bad outcome, some kids will thrive and do the right thing despite the situation.

I think that raising teenagers has to be one of the most demanding and difficult tasks put before us. I hope none of you ever have to face the situation that these parents face. I don't know the family involved, maybe they are great parents, maybe they are terrible parents, but I do know that it does not always work the way you would want.

I didn't see the section mentioned, but several people in this thread seem to think he may have pushed someone overboard...if that were true there would be a hell of a lot of news. More likely he just pushed someone into the pool - which may or may not have been reported to the crew. If it was reported, and someone wanted to press charges...well, they now have evidence and he can probably be more easily IDed.
