I've read that all camera film (exposed or not) should be kept in carry-on luggage and hand-checked as we go through security. However, I'm wondering if this other stuff is ok to put in our checked luggage. I hate lugging a bunch of stuff onto a plane, so I try to keep my carry-on bag down to a medium sized purse.
Here's my list of stuff I hope to check:
Camcorder tapes
Camcorder batteries
Handwarmers (the things you can buy at Walmart--you open the pouch, shake them, and they heat up)
Especially the handwarmers--I'm afraid whatever makes them heat up might be a problem, but I've never claimed to be a chemist. My husband is a chemical engineer, but he'll say not to pack them regardless, just by them there. Do they sell them in Florida though since the weather is pretty warm?
