Is this acceptable?

It takes a lot more than 30 seconds to get a FP for TSM!

Personally, I think it's OK to rejoin your party as long as they are still outside the building and you can just duck into line. Once you have to start wading into the queue and passing folks, I don't think it's OK or fair to the other people in line.

this. once you're in the building, i think it's too late for someone to join you.

often, DH gets the FPs while i ride one time with the kids. i've offered to be the runner so he gets to ride twice, but he doesn't mind.

coincidently, i once overheard an argument between a lady and (i think) her son. she was in the line and was telling him to just come through and find her. he refused to do it. good for him.

Well, if you must know, I am allergic to popcorn and seeing someone enjoy something that I can't have is very painful to me.

This begs so many different (inappropriate) responses, but I'm going to wish you my condolences, draw the line, and state that our silliness on this topic has gone far enough.

We now return to the regularly scheduled silliness.

Have the fastest member of your party book it to the FP line at opening. If you have kiddos or a larger group, it takes longer for everyone to get there. Then, wait for the FP runner to get done or he/she waits for your group to get there.

The FP line is crazy for this. I would just go ahead and ride then get a FP for later in the day when you are done riding. The FP line will me much shorter!

I do believe I ruffled some feathers here... my apologies. Let me explain.

By going on the ride once, it alleviates the queue. Wait times would be shorter, FP's will be available longer. It's not too hard to see where I'm going with this. It'll give more people a chance to go on the ride without waiting a ridiculous amount of time.

How does me saying go on the ride once a day equate to me going to Disney once in my whole life? That could be the dumbest analogy I ever heard and I'm sad I'm wasting my time replying to that.

Also, I really didn't expect anyone to take me seriously. Nor do I expect anyone to do what I asked, but I must have hit some nerves to have you guys get all out of shape over it. Sorry. Go on with your "get on line and grab FP's as quick as possible" strategies... they obviously work well for you.

TSM is easily becoming my most hated ride in WDW do to the fact that I won't wait on that line, nor will I race to get there in the morning. Maybe I'll get lucky on EMH's at night one day.

Peace.

Actually I really am allergic to popcorn. It kinda makes going to the movies suck, but otherwise it's not so bad. I don't think I'm at the point where I need some sort of companion animal or anything. Unless it's a unicorn. I would totally be cool with a companion unicorn.

Then you probably shouldn't do it. You will more than likely get a few dirty looks and may run into some that will not allow you to catch up to your party. If you party wants to wait and let others ahead of them till you get to them then most find that more acceptable.

we've done this at TSMM. we wait at the spot right before you go inside the building and let others ahead of us until the FP runner catches up. we've had no problems with this.

Whereas I don’t agree that riding TSM or any ride twice (or more) is necessarily or automatically a bad or selfish thing...I do sympathize a bit with Albytaps...I think the idea/perception that some milk/game the FP system for all its worth, can come across a bit neurotic and selfish....others might very well say it’s just being resourceful and well-organized...two sides of the same coin perhaps...

Is it acceptable for one person of your party to stand in line and get fast passes to TSMM while the rest of the party gets in the standby line and the FP person meet you in the line?

I don't want to get a bunch of dirty looks while I am trying to meet up with the rest of my party.

Definitely not ok under any circumstances. As others have mentioned, you may very well run across folks who not only give dirty looks, but also do not let you pass by them in line. No harm in asking though.

We all pay the same admission and you should be able to go on Toy Story Mania (or any other ride) as much as you want - clearly, it is not selfish to go multiple times - it is your vacation, enjoy it.

I went on it 3 times on a day lastmonth and it was great.

Wait! No fair! I haven't had a chance to pass out my famous home baked e-cookies yet!

Bless your sweet heart.

And the betting starts at 12 pages.

It should be noted however, that Robo follows the rules.

And hands out lovely parting gifts as well.

:thumbsup2, and I'll go with the over.

OP, sounds like your heart's in the right place and I commend you for asking. Now run away and don't look back here. ;)

It is Halloween, ya know. Run.

Popcorn offends me.

Me too. It smells like dirty feet. Unless it's bacon flavored.

I will say, that after reading 78 pages of the CC Guarantee for ADRs thread, I see all FP points very clearly. A lot of people get FPs with the intention of riding later and then never do, or horde the FPs and never use them all, or use them later increasing the standby time even longer for parents who couldn't get a FP (goodness, don't flame me...not going to hash out invisible places with you today because I know Robo is a rule follower...and cheaters never win) while many don't know about FPs or they choose not to educate themselves so I can see it all the way around...that is why I agree, I will not stand in line to ride anything that has a wait of over 45 minutes with my kids. No way Jose, or Mesa, or t_catt. But, I also try to go at off-times to be able to miss some of those waits.

Wait! No fair! I haven't had a chance to pass out my famous home baked e-cookies yet!

I hear it from a reliable source that you steal them from the local hotels and pawn them off as your own. That's why they taste so stale.

Fairfield Inn stocks their welcome cookie basket with Mrs Fields chocolate chip. They are the best! When those run out, Days Inn stocks Great Value cookies from Wal-Mart, but those are only used as a last resort backup.

Don't knock Great Value, man. A lot of their stuff isn't half bad.

Also, Waynesgirl.... bacon flavored popcorn?

I hear he gets them from Applebee's.

Don't start that again. . .we got in trouble for hi-jacking that thread.

Besides, as I said, I don't eat at the Applebee's.

Me too. It smells like dirty feet. Unless it's bacon flavored.
~Waynesgirl

Yes, that.

And aren't pig's feet bacon flavored?

An argument could be made that the best thing to happen to that other thread was for it to be hi-jacked. Things didn't start going south until a mysterious person with a suspiciously low post count came long and threw a hissyfit because they didn't get the joke.

Wait, nevermind. Not a joke, after all. More of an "my idea isn't passing the logic test, so I'm writing it off as a joke".

You are a "bulldog" - I am never getting on the other side of the issue with you even if I'm right! ;)

I hear he gets them from Applebee's.

By the way, did PF Changs turn out to be a good FP rumor source last night? :confused3

No -- my sources there were as dry as the ribs. Not even a pinch of five-spice could get anything out of them. The sources, that is. The five-spice worked wonders on the ribs.

However, Oglet posted a new FP rumor on the rumors board (a rumor on the rumors board -- imagine that!) that didn't come from any chain restaurant, as far as I can tell.
