Is This a Sign Of Things To Come?

The price is for a group of up to 10 people. :)
Actually that is not as bad as I had thought. So how exactly does it work? Do you get on the rides without wait? do you get a special area for parades without having to secure the spot for long periods of time? So if you did this just for a parade than it would be $400 to $600 for your group?

It isn't a front of the line pass, but we're able to get into the FP+ queue for every attraction or M&G that offers one, so it does drastically cut the wait time. On the day we hop from EP to DHS (or vice versa) our tour guide drives us to a backstage entrance, saving a lot of time too. The designated parade viewing is on the Liberty Square bridge. Unfortunately, you can't do the tour for just the parade as there is a 6 hour minimum when booking.

I was thinking this as well. Since I already have BOG booked for a pre park opening I wonder how they would work that one. Possibly charge me to just come into the park early for my ADR.......
Starting to wonder if I am living in the Twight Zone or a nightmare lol!!!

We have an 8:00 BOG res for this summer as well. I guess we'll see.

No one knows, but just say this is it. Early dining for early park access. Yeah, it is trying to squeeze every penny out of people I agree, but also maybe closing loopholes in a flawed system. They need to stop this extra FP stuff too. While people love taking advantage of loopholes, them doing so makes things like this happen.

I think that in addition to early entry perhaps attractions will be open. Disney has a habit of getting folks used to a certain perk that is pixie dust, and then if enough people use it, there is sometimes a charge later in.

Let's look at how many people book bog in order to jumpstart the mine train. It's often running. If now, people are booking early morning meals then have access to a few popular attractions before rd, and are willing to pay for that premium, maybe the cost would be worth it to them. Right now there are a lot of people booking BOG and sharing a 25 meal between 5 people. Close that loophole and offer early entrance to a few attractions.

It is not as if people are taking advantage of Disney. Disney is the one that has offered BOG to be booked at that time. They can choose not to let People on the rides early. I personally think if continue this route many people are going to head over to Universal. There is rumor that Universal bought a tremendous amount of I land to expand. Universal is going to have Disney right where they want them and Disney is going to keep send more people that direction.Eventually people have a limit. Where Disney made their mistake was doing evertthing at once. Raising prices everywhere and giving people less

You can park for free, however, if you get there early you still don't get a close parking spot unless you pay to "upgrade".

not really true. there may be less close spots but there are still close spots

My Mk day is one of the few days Disney has added the after hours to. Since Disney has taken away the FP for wishes I went ahead and booked the Desert Party but now even that will not help much with added crowds

the crowd discussion thread seems to lean that the after hours event will not change crowds that much. I agree although no one really knows as this is a new experience. It is billed as limited and I've heard as few as 3k tickets as the limit.

i agree with this. make BOG prepark a per person charge. Before BOG breakfast, were any rides opened to CP or CRT diners before RD?

Maybe early hours are going to be able to be booked by offsite guests? Onsite guests will still receive EMH hours. This will help us swallow the $15.00 a night resort fees that are rumored. It will seem like we ARE getting something for the $15.00.

this has been happening for at least the last 16 years I've visited these boards.

475 acres. magic kingdom is about 100 acres so it is a good size. not all of it will be theme park though

Universal is going to have Disney right where they want them

again universal has had disney right where they want them for years.

not sure why this "i'm going to universal" is a thing. WDW had an estimated 51 million visitors in 2014. Disney will survive more people going to universal.

I hope not. EMH is a crap shoot already in terms of crowds. If they add extra bodies, I'm out.

I don't even know what to say anymore...the "perks" of staying onsite are being stripped away. You can park for free, however, if you get there early you still don't get a close parking spot unless you pay to "upgrade". You can stay in the park late....but you need to pay to do it...you can watch our wonderful night time shows...but if you don't pay for a premium dining package, you ain't seeing it except from way at the back or side with an obstructed view. You can watch our fireworks...but if you actually want to see them well, you need to pay a premium and eat dessert.....it keeps going and going....

Well... technically you can only park for free until they start charging a resort fee (which let's face it we all know is going to happen). ;)

I think the pre opening breakfasts have established that guests WILL pay to have early access to the park.

I have to agree with the above poster. It won't matter to Disney if you go to Universal. Whether it will matter to them in the long run remains to be seen. I'm guessing the bigger Universal gets, the more it will operate in the same manner.

We don't know that it won't be affected, but it still exists and we don't know that it will be eliminated. I can see them leaving one day a week, probably a weekday, early entry for resort guests. Evenings will probably remain on Wednesdays. Especially if resort fees are coming. But the days of multiple EMH in a week are probably over.

I seriously at first wanted to scream now all I want to do is cry. I usually love the planning stage but this trip I can not wait for it just to happen before Disney can ruin even more of the strategic planning that I have spent months perfecting. My Mk day is one of the few days Disney has added the after hours to. Since Disney has taken away the FP for wishes I went ahead and booked the Desert Party but now even that will not help much with added crowds. I also had BOG scheduled for a pre park opening on two days just in case Disney changed hours. After what they pulled today I was tempted to switch my Mk day to the other day I have BOG booked but now I am afraid to do anything because I do not know what is coming next. I feel like I am out at sea waiting for the next wave it roll over my head.
I agree! We haven't done the full park hopper Disney experience since my girls from 2 & 4 (MK 4&6, DL 6&8). They are finally at the ages where we can take total advantage of Park Hopping and FP (7&9) and I just started my planning stage for Mid-August to end the summer with a bang. I have been so excited up until yesterday when I started reading all posts on changes coming. I don't know what to expect. I told my DH last night that maybe we should just cancel and go to Atlantis! The more I read, the more tempted I am! I will always remember when my 2 year old was scared during the fireworks on our first visit to WDW - we were standing next to an ice-cream cart and a CM saw her fear and opened up a mickey bar and just handed it to her. That would never happen now - the magic seems to have faded....#MONEYHUNGRYGREED!
