Is this a safe place to stop for gas?

We plan to stop in Marietta Georgia for our first stop for gas. I was just wondering if anyone knows this town and if it is a safe nice place to stop. Also can anyone reccomend a safe stop in Florida? Thank You all for any help you can give me.

When we drive we always stop for gas a stations that are right on and visible from the highway (I95). Most of those are pretty safe and there are usually plenty of people around.

We stayed over night in Marietta and found it to be very nice. Felt safe. Gas stations were just fine. Being a larger suburb of Atlanta, there are a few Marietta exits. Use your judgement on the station, but the area in general seemed fine.
As for stopping in FL, I highly recommend you fill your tank to the brim in GA. Gas is about .40-.50 cents cheaper in GA. Not until you get closer to Orlando do the prices even out.

Dalton GA is just above Marietta, I have stopped there numerous times. Clean and well lit. Also Tifton GA Exit 60 has large Shell Station with Steak and Shake.

If you are just stopping for gas...I wouldn't be too wooried about the "neighboorhood".

Well, I live in Marietta (which is nowhere near I-95, by the way) and I feel perfectly safe living here and filling my tank. I assume you are coming down I-75South. There are several places to stop between Cartersville(about 20 min north of marietta) and I-285. The Town Center mall is at Barrett Parkway and has a host of restaurants and a few hotels. Chastain Road is one exit before Barrett Parkway and has some good restaurants & some hotels as well. Both of these areas are frequented by lots of families. The further south you go toward I-285, the iffier the location. I would not like to stay anywhere on the Delk Rd or Windy Hill Rd exits(lots of apartments nearby, somewhat of a medium-crime area.)
and it's true what they say about GA gas--it IS cheaper here!

It's a little off topic but deals with I75. I have a friend who swears about a short cut. Get off I75 in Cleveland TN and take SR 60 into GA to SR 71 that runs in to Dalton GA. He says it saves about 40 miles on I75. Does any one know about using it?
