Just rented a minivan for 5/5 to 5/13 (8 days) and received a rate of $210, including all of the various taxes, surcharges, etc. Is this a good rate? Anyone receive a lower rate? (I got it through Alamo with a code I found on Mousesavers.com.)

Figment and Piglet, i think that is a really good rate, especially if it includes all of the taxes. I have $285 with Dollare for June (which includes all taxes) for the same period of time.

That is great! I have my reservation with Alamo for 2 weeks with a van and the total is $461 for 2 weeks... I was with Budget using the Entertainment book discount of 20% and that was $497... so $36 is in MY pocket.... not theirs... Steph

I got my minivan from National using Emerald Isle discount and a $15 coupon from Entertainment book. Total cost for 5/7-5/12 is $185.57. That includes all charges, fees, etc.

last night i checked a few rental places out. My husband insists on getting a car...... he has the Platinum status with American Airlines which is suppose to give you 'deals' on things like rental cars...... well, with his so called discount at Hertz a mini-van would be $531.and change for 8 days. I checked the prices at Budget, for a 'normal' person without any status......... $251.11 for the same time period.........for the same mini-van.

The ONLY thing I do like about my husbands deal is he doesnt have to check in when he gets there, he just goes to the board and grabs the keys and leaves.

But to save $281 bucks....... I dont mind standing in a line for a little bit...........!! :smooth:

Did you try any of the discount codes from Mousesavers? That might get you a lower rate.

I have friends driving out of Houston and the lowest I can find for a MV (9 days) is $381 including taxes with UL Miles.
Alot of the cheaper ones only gave you 1050 miles and .025 additional miles. Since they are driving to MCO the $381 is cheaper.
I thought most rental car companies offered UL miles. Does anyone have any suggestions.

You can check car rental rates at www.orbitz.com. It pays to check every 4 days because the prices do change with each company. I think the car companies have a little pact to take turns offering a good rate and then bumping the rates up when it is another car company's turn for good rates.

In Feb. 2002, we paid $149 (not including taxes) for one week minivan rental with L & M rental for WDW. Their counter is inside the airport terminal next to the big car rental companies. The cars are located in the parking lot adjacent to the terminal (just walk across from the street from the terminal into the parking structure). Only slight negative about L & M rental is that they charge more for drivers under 25 and you must bring a copy of your car insurance policy if you want to decline coverage with them.

Good Luck.

I am paying $188.00 for my minivan rental using the Contract Id Code for Disney Club, and the disney club 20.00 off coupon. Let me know if anyone can get it cheaper. I am booked for 9/28-10/05. Last night I looked at adding a day starting on 9/27 and the price went up almost 100.00. So, I guess we are not coming a day early.
