Ok here is my plan I am going the 1st week of Aug 2006 for 9 nights and 10 days. Staying at WL in a woods view room. Four people for $5882 for the Sliver plan. At 2 wisher per person per day that should be about 72 wishes. Is this a good deal?
A room with a standard view is $5570. But I have heard the veiw is VERy bad. Please help.

I saw your sample itinerary on the other thread...you're going to be spending a lot of park time traveling to restaurants and eating!!

If you stick to that plan, it may be a good deal for you. I rough calculated 4 adult premium annual passes at todays rates = 2125.76. Rack rate at WL for 9 nights during value season (which this year August is value) = 2308.05. That leaves 1448.19 for food / 10 days = 144.82 for your meals / 4 people = 36.21/per/day.

If this is within your budget and your comfortable with it, then it's fine.

I couldn't possibly eat at all those sit downs!! I also couldn't pay rack rate...I would hold out for a discount code. In addition, again just my $.02, I think it would be a better deal to get the premium annual pass. The components could probably be had cheaper but the meals would make a difference for you.

My wife and I are not big fans of "the view" from the room... for us anything will do. We don't spend much time looking out the window or sitting on the balcony/patio. At any rate...

At WL, there are 3 room views available. The Standard View generally faces the parking lot or driveway and sometimes the roof of another building. Some people have reported views of the dumpster area at WL. From the balcony, you may see trees or pool, if you lean over (but not too far!). This is the least expensive view.

Woods View faces the woods towards the MK (maybe obscured view of MK over the tree tops and maybe a glimpse of a monorail, these would happen only on the 6th or 7th floors, I'd think) on one side and the Wilderness Lodge Villas/woods on the other side.

Courtyard View looks out over one of the pools, the WL courtyard area (the falls but you also see other buildings) or Bay Lake. On the upper floors (6 and 7), you MIGHT see some MK fireworks. On our last trip in May, I noticed the trees around WL have grown considerably, so I wouldn't count on a completely unobstructed view. Obviously, this is the most expensive view. However, on our last trip in May, the front desk upgraded us from woods to courtyard view -- no charge. That may be possible at check-in, but it would depend on availability for your entire stay. We had a wonderful room on the 1st floor with a beautiful view of the falls, pool and walkway to the boat dock.

Seems to be a bit high but on a positive note, you have plenty of time to pay it off before going on the trip. On another positive note, Disney has been trying various things over the past couple of years as far as discounts (Fairytale packages, dream makers, Disney Visa offers, etc.) You can book and begin to pay off the vacation and when spring 2006 hits see what type of packages/discounts become available and then you should be able to apply it to your vacation. If Disney owes you any money back after you've paid it off, you can ask for them to credit to your room and then you'll have additional spending money. Key to this is watch for whatever packages Disney makes available April/May of 2006.

Hope this makes sense.

I am thinking of just getting a standard room view but trying for an upgrade. What are the chance of upgrading rooms? At the WL?
