a comfortable sofa sleeper?

I want something comfortable for my guest room but I dont think Ive actually found a nice couch ( forget the futon idea. Already tried it my mom will never go for it LOL) what I would really like is something ( daybed??) that wont take up as much room.

Any ideas?

Am I totally dreaming?

DH and I just bought a sleep number bed from Select Comfort (the kind where you can adjust the firmness on each side) and they had sleeper sofas too. I'm sure they are very expensive since our mattress was in the $2000 range, but they are super comfortable. Our salesman said that the only problem with them is that your company wants to stay longer. :rotfl:

We actually have a comfortable sofa-sleeper in our guest room. We have been told many, many times by the people who have used it. They seem so surprised! ;) (and for some reason it seems to get used a lot!) We got it at the Sears Homelife store many years ago on clearance. It was a good deal.

So, they actually have some. Good luck with your search.

:)

My sister has one that they got from the Lazy Boy Store. The couch is nice and comfy, thick cushions and the bed inside is a blow up that is soooooooo nice and comfy. It's kind of like the Aerobed, inflates in minutes and is about 10" thick and looks like a real mattress. :cloud9:

DH and I searched for nearly a year to find one that was good quality, looked good and would support a 285 pound man and his wife without sagging or feeling flimsy. We tested *everything* and found all to be unacceptable until we tried a sleeper sofa at Havertys that is their *own brand*. This particular sofa was made of leather, quite heavy and around $1800 (or was a few months back). I "think" it can be ordered in a cloth fabric which would keep the cost down. But anyway, it was by far the sturdiest and best looking we found looking most of the state as well as researching the net. (We ended up putting these people up in a hotel and didn't make the purchase after all our research!)

The only comfortable sleeper sofa I have been on belonged to my community college theatre.

One day the T.D. instructed some of the more muscular guys to 'clean out' the props loft. Down came this hideous 1960/70's era love seat covered in a rough-textured puke-orange material. The T.D. didn't want to throw it away, so it got thrown in the green room with an assortment of other couches and chairs.

Let me tell you, that thing was the most comfortable bed I've EVER slept on.

i wish I had gone for the daybed instead of the sofa. bought one for the guestroom/office. I ended up sleeping on it after DH developed restless leg syndrome :rotfl2: (not funny but leg motion is similar) . It is VERY uncomfortable and I ended up getting an Aerobed.

we have one that is pretty comfortable. we ended up buying it used when we got our first apartment.

We put an egg crate mattress on our sofa sleeper and that really seems to help. You could put a memory foam one on now and I bet it would be just fine.
