Is there such a thing as a special parking lot for auto club users?

I have Bob Sellinger's Unofficial Guide the WDW and in the very back someone wrote a tip about a special parking Lot for people who belong to the auto clubs? Where is it? Apparently the MK one is close to the TTC entrance??? I have never heard of this. I have AAA ...does that count? ANY info would be appreciated!!!!!

It is offered by AAA, called Diamond Lane. It's not offered in all the parks but it is at MK and AK for sure. Go to your AAA office and they'll give you a thing for your windshield. It was great the day we decided to go to MK at 3 pm, drove right up to the front of the pk. lot.

You have to purchase tickets or a package through AAA to get passes to park there. Call your local AAA for details.

Do you know if the AAA ticket prices are good? Similar to Ticket Mania????? I REALLY want to park in those lots!!!!:Pinkbounc

Why not call your AAA office? Every office is different. Also some of the Diamond lots are off to the side and there still is some walking involved. We have always managed close parking at all the parks without the Diamond parking.

I've found AAA prices to be very good. But you need to call your local AAA to get price quotes as every AAA branch's prices are a little different.

We didn't. Just asked and they gave them to us. Sorry to contradict.

McNuss, tried that at our AAA and they wouldn't give us the passes. So I guess it depends on the office.

Pretty soon I won't have to worry about it. We will be moving to FL Dec. 15. We will be about 20 mins away from WDW.

Two comments--

One, the policy on getting the diamond lot pass definitely varies from office to office.

Second--Even with the pass there is no guarantee you'll be able to use it--we've been told that lot was full several times.

Oh, too cool!!!! Where? That is wonderful. Could you PM me?

The one nice thing about AAA ticket prices are they INCLUDE taxes, so the price you are quoted is the total price. I've noticed that a lot of other ticket places quote a price, then add taxes. I am getting my 5 day hopper passes for the same price my daughter is getting with her military discount, and AAA said they would give me a Diamond parking pass (I'll try anything to save the old footsies a few steps).

New job??? :D

Isn't that the beauty of a "portable" job!!

Just picked up my 5 day hopper pass from AAA and the clerk gave me a "Diamond Parking Certificate" but said I would have to pay to park there (I'm staying on-site and entitled to free parking in the regular parking -- but you have to pay to park in the AAA parking lot?? She recommended parking at my resort and using WDW transportation. Might be the plan.

off2disney , your agent is confused. If you are an onsite guest parking is free. At check in they will give you a paper for your dashboard. They will wave you through when you get to the gates at the parks. It isn't anything extra to use the Diamond pass.

I would take your own car. It is so much easier than taking the bus. Disney transportation is good but having your own car is better.
