Is there still a latch at the top of the resort rooms door

Bumping - what resort at you looking at staying at? It could be different depending on value, moderate, deluxe or DVC.

I "think" all WDW Resorts have the "Safety Latch"-Mods and Values definitely have them.

As a hotel GM for 20+ years trust me. We can get in your room

This topic really is a dead horse.

Let me ask you:

I am alone in my room in the afternoon, I've just stepped out of the shower, a CM needs to come in and check the room. Do they just unlock the door, disable the latch and walk in? Or do they knock? If I say, "Just a moment!" will they wait for a period of time?

I understand that employees CAN get into a locked room. It it a reasonable concern that they WILL? As a hotel GM can you tell us if most hotels have a protocol used before they disable the safety latch?

If you have the room occupied sign on, they will keep knocking until you answer.

Yes there is a latch. We just returned home from 10 nights at POR and they were doing inspections. I was not feeling well one morning and there was several taps at the door. It was maintenance indicating they were doing an inspection of the room. The man walked through the room and bathroom and left. He was very polite and I stood by the door holding the door open while he was doing the inspection. He was very pleasant and asked if he could do the inspection so I was fine with that.

Staying GF and Poly also I think I'm entitled to ask a question w/o smart remarks, if you don't like my question or any one elses for that matter, move along w/o commenting. I will not apologize for asking a question you may not like.
We are all here for the same reason instead if being snarky be nice, it's really not that hard to do.
Thank you go anyone who answered w/o smart comments.

Yes and they can get through them, thank goodness. If they hadn't been able to get past the flip latch we'd have never gotten back in our room last summer. When housekeeping left somehow the latch flipped back over the door (found out it happens a lot) so we couldn't open the door. Maintenance came and was able to open it but it does cause them to have to replace the latch. It is not a quick process so if they have to do that because you have not answered you'll know it. There wouldn't be any slipping in like just a deadbold/key would do.

One would hope so,but,FWIW,there are reports on other Threads where this did not happen.

Wow. I have not seen a report yet of them bypassing the latch and just coming in when a guest has replied saying "wait a minute". That's really crazy.
