Is there anywhere that fully explains the lime green thing.

I have read whatever I find about the subject, but don't fully understand the concept. I know it is supposed to identify you as a DISboarder, but can anyone give me the rest of the story? How and when to use, etc.? :confused3

Thanks All!

it is not a thing, it is a cult... the hazing requires you to swipe alien green mickey head paint samples from Home Depot. These things were determined long ago in a ceremony high atop Space Mountain during a hard ticket event. It is not wise to question the ways of the Cult of the Lime Green Mickey head, though if you see someone in the parks sporting the LGMH, feel free to ask to see their planning spreadsheet.

Some of the previous posts are really funny. But I thought I would tell you what I know. Just plain and simple.

Lime Green Mickey heads are found at Home Depot in the paint department. They are like paint samples on paper and they are.....lime green.

I took my Lime Green Mickey Head and wrote my Dis name on it. I then laminated it and punched a hole in the corner. I tied the Mickey head with a bright green ribbon onto our backpack.

I also took the Mickey heads and decorated our resort window and door with them. Nothing elaborate, just Mickey heads with our names on them into a diamond shaped pattern.

If you see someone with a Lime Green Mickey Head in the theme parks, you know that they are part of the discussions you find here on these boards. If you spot a Mickey head and to talk with them, most will be happy to meet you. Just remember don't take up too much time since they are on their vacation too.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for all the explanations. My DH and I have two boys, but they are 28 and 26 and just don't get our obsession with all things Disney. The LGMH's are a great idea. I'm off to Home Depot this weekend. Thanks again!:cool1:

Thanks mickeystoontown! I guess I basically had found most of it already, just wondering if there was more. I just wasn't sure if you were supposed to wear a simple lime green ribbon on your clothes or something more apparent to people, or there is no hard and fast rule except the lime green color.

I plan to go by HD this evening and look for some lime green mickey heads. You gave me some good ideas about how to use them to be identified as a DISer. I will make sure to have them visible during our trips to the different DVC resorts, and be on the look out for others with lime green prominently displayed. Will be a great way to meet new people and say hello!

By the way, if you have a problem with "relocating" the paint chips from HD or don't have access to one, you can also just use a bright green craft foam, or paper (look in the scrapbook section of a craft store) and cut out a Mickey Head shape, or you can find ones that can be printed off on our Cruise line board or our DISign board.

DCL thread that I think has some LGMH in it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=838817

DISign board: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105

You can ask there if anyone has some you can print.
