Is there a way to use DDP on someone not in my room?

Hi. My family and I are visiting Disney in January (woohoo) and have purchased the DDP for myself, husband, and five year old. We have just found out my step son and his girlfriend ( who live in Florida) want to stay with us while we are there. They will only be able to dine with us a few time though because they will still be working and so on. Can we add only one of them to our room reservation and purchase one ddp then use the credits for both of them? I know the receipts add all the credits together but am not sure if they can tell how many people are on the original reservation. Any input would be welcome. Thank you and happy Holidays!

No, you cannot use your credits for people who did not purchase the ddp. I believe your room key will indicate that there are 2 adults and 1 child on the plan plus it will be in the system when they run your card.

People on the DDP will be listed on the KTTW. You will not be able to purchase individual DDP credits and/or use it for someone not on your reservation. It states that on the DDP brochure as well.

They will not allow you to redeem more credits than people on the DDP (ex: you can't use 2 adult credits and 1 child if you only have 1 ad and 1 child listed). They'll just need to pay OOP.

To make sure I understand, you want to add, say DSS, to your reservation making your room have 4 people - you, DH, DSS, & your 5 year old. Say you're staying 6 nights which would be 6 "extra" dining credits which would equate to 3 nights where you want to use those 6 credits for DSS and his GF to join you for dinner.

No, you would not be able to use any dining credits for the GF as she wouldn't be on your reservation. Because your cards would show that there are only 3 adults and 1 child in your room, you would not be able to charge 4 adult meals at any one time. You would also pay extra for DSS to be on your reservation as a third adult in the room.

Just use your dining credits for your meals and pay OOP for DSS & his GF's meals when they are able to join you. Your server will be able to split the bill between OOP and DDP credits. Hope this helps.

It is the policy of this board that all discussion of actually using or attempting to use dining credits for others who are not on your reservation will be deleted, since Disney asks specifically that guests not do that. (this includes instances where guests were told otherwise by individual Disney CMs.)
