Is there a song out there with your name as the title?

There are a few

"Gloria" by U2
"Gloria" by Laura Branigan
"Gloria" Patti Smith
"Gloria" Van Morrison

Oh and then there is a the religious version
I hated that one as a kid

I think that is all I have ever heard of... :)

I like the U2 version the best :)

I'm surprised the other Robins on this board haven't jumped on this. First there is the song from which I take my user name--both versions--and there is also "when the Red Red Robin comes Bob Bob Bobbin along."
Both annoy me to no end!:D
Robin M.

My middle name became Maurice Chevalier's signature song in 1929.

Every little breeze seems to whisper "Louise."
Birds in the trees seem to twitter "Louise."
Each little rose
Tells me it knows I love you, love you.

Every little beat that I feel in my heart,
Seems to repeat, What I felt from the start,
Each little sigh
Tells me that I adore you, Louise.

Just to see and hear you
Brings joy I never knew.
But to be so near you,
Thrills me through and through.

Anyone can see why I wanted your kiss,
It had to be But the wonder is this:
Can it be true,
Someone like you Could love me, Louise?

Innocent! You're so innocent
And gentle as a dove.
Heaven sent! You were heaven sent,
An angel from above.

Often when I'm gloomy
And in my lonely room.
Thoughts of you come to me,
Like a sweet perfume.

Anyone can see why I wanted your kiss,
It had to be But the wonder is this:
Can it be true,
Someone like you Could love me, Louise?

I don't know of any with Serena or Laurie in the title.

Beth by Kiss (I actually told John-Cole that they had written that song about me!! He believed me too until he asked his daddy:) :) )

And Beauty is of course from Beauty and the Beast and the beautiful song by Celine Dion and Pebo Bryson!

yes there is actually - not spelled the same.

My mom used to sing it to me when I was little, she still does occassionally :)

Tammy

I hear the cottonwoods whisp'rin' above
Tammy! Tammy! Tammy's in love!
The ole hootie owl hootie-hoo's to the dove
Tammy! Tammy! Tammy's in love!
Does my darling feel what I feel
When he comes near?
My heart beats so joyfully
You'd think that he could hear!
Wish I knew if he knew what I'm dreaming of!
Tammy! Tammy! Tammy's in love!

Whippoorwill, whippoorwill, you and I know
Tammy! Tammy! Can't let him go!
The breeze from the bayou keeps murmuring low
Tammy! Tammy! You love him so!
When the night is warm, soft and warm
I long for his charms!
I'd sing like a violin
If I were in his arms
Wish I knew if he knew what I'm dreaming of!
Tammy, Tammy, Tammy's in love!

Julie, Do You Love Me
Bobby Sherman

(Written by Tom Bahler)

Bein' alone at night makes me sad, girl
Yeah, it brings me down all right
Tossin' and turnin' and freezin' and burnin'
And cryin' all through the night

Whoa-oh
Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya love me?
Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya care?
Julie, Julie, are ya thinkin' of me?
Julie, Julie, will ya still be there?

We had so much fun together
I was sure that you were mine
But leavin' you, baby, is drivin' me crazy
It's got me wonderin' all the time

Whoa-oh
Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya love me?
Ah, Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya care?
Julie, Julie, are ya thinkin' of me?
Julie, Julie, will ya still be there?

Honey, you cried the day I left you
Even though we knew I couldn't stay
But baby, remember, I'll be back September
But till then I'll write you every day

Whoa-oh
Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya love me?
Ah, Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya care?
Come on, Julie, Julie, are ya thinkin' of me?
Julie, Julie, will ya still be there?

Oh-oh
Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya love me?
Ah, Julie, Julie, Julie, do ya care?
Julie, Julie, are ya thinkin' of me?
Julie, Julie, will ya still be there?

*Brown Eyes* ~ Fleetwood Mac ~
I'm a huge FM fan and I didn't know they had this song! I need to look it up. Thanks Donna.:)

I know there's another song named browneyes, but I think it's a rap song or something.

"Gotta have Faith Faith Faith, I gotta have Faith Faith Faith." By George Michael. Also, various religious songs with "Faith" in the title.:o Also, "penny lover" "Pennylane" and "Pennie's from Heaven" as Penelope is my middle name, and I go by Pennie also!:o

Not exactly a "light and fluffy" song, but *********** already listed the other! :D :D

"Think of Laura"
By Christopher Cross

Every once in a while I'd see her smile
And she'd turn my day around
A girl with those eyes
Could stare through the lies
And see what your heart was saying

Chorus:
Think of Laura but laugh don't cry
I know she'd want it that way
When you think of Laura laugh don't cry
I know she'd want it that way

A friend of a friend
A friend to the end
That's the kind of girl she was
Taken away so young
Taken away without a warning

<Chorus>

I know you and you're here
In every day we live
I know her and she's here
I can feel her when I sing

Hey Laura, where are you now
Are you far away from here
I don't think so
I think you're here
Taking our tears away

Good old Bruce Springsteen, although it's title with him is 4th of July, Asbury Park I believe. Air Supply had a version and called it Sandy...

Sandy the fireworks are hailin' over Little Eden tonight
Forcin' a light into all those stoned-out faces left stranded on this Fourth of July
Down in town the circuit's full with switchblade lovers so fast so shiny so sharp
And the wizards play down on Pinball Way on the boardwalk way past dark
And the boys from the casino dance with their shirts open like Latin lovers along the shore
Chasin' all them silly New York girls
Sandy the aurora is risin' behind us, the pier lights our carnival life forever
Love me tonight for I may never see you again, hey Sandy girl

Now the greasers they tramp the streets or get busted for trying to sleep on the beach all night
Them boys in their spiked high heels ah Sandy their skins are so white
And me I just got tired of hangin' in them dusty arcades bangin' them pleasure machines
Chasin' the factory girls underneath the boardwalk where they promise to unsnap their jeans
And you know that tilt-a-whirl down on the south beach drag
I got on it last night and my shirt got caught
And that Joey kept me spinnin' I didn't think I'd ever get off

Oh Sandy the aurora is risin' behind us
The pier lights our carnival life on the water
Runnin' down the beach at night with my boss's daughter
Well he ain't my boss no more Sandy

Sandy the angels have lost their desire for us
I spoke to `em just last night and they said they won't set themselves on fire for us anymore
Every summer when the weather gets hot they ride that road down from heaven
on their Harleys they come and they go
And you can see `em dressed like stars in all the cheap little seashore bars parked making love with their babies out on the Kokomo
Well the cops finally busted Madame Marie for tellin' fortunes better than they do
This boardwalk life for me is through
You know you ought to quit this scene too

Sandy the aurora's rising behind us, the pier lights our carnival life forever
Oh love me tonight and I promise I'll love you forever

Someone has already mentioned it and yes, it is a stretch but:

When the Red, Red, Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin' Along

Serena, I know it is an even greater stretch but what about ...

Moonlight Serenade ??

Perhaps some of you have heard of a song called "The First Noel". :p :p :p

I think my parents must have known I would be in a service-related job as an adult. Every year about mid-November customers start making comments like "That's not your real name, is it?" or the ever popular "I'll bet you were a Christmas baby." (my birthday is 7/26)

Wow! I never knew the Carpenters had a song entitled Sandy. I've never heard this one...

Artist Carpenters, The
Album A Kind of Hush
Song Sandy

Looking at you
I'm almost home again
Something in you
Puts me at ease
Yes, I know that you're
Suspicious of me
Do I mean the things I say?
Yo know I've been in love before
That much is true
But thought I've been in love before
It wasn't with you

(*) Ooh, Sandy
Could we spend the day together?
You know how rainy weather
Gets me down when I'm alone
You, Sandy
You gotta be a friend today
An hour with you would
Chase the winter away

Being with you
I'm like a child again
Your eyes can see
Clearer than mine
No one ever made me quite so aware
No one ever took the time
The time it took surprises me
Nothing's the same
As if my life began again
Hearing your name

Repeat (*)

An hour with you would
Chase the winter away

And no Brenda's that I know of. I guess it just isn't a very poetic name.

Okay... I'm dating myself but don't you remember when Brenda Morganstern was complaining to her boyfriend that there were no songs with Brenda in them he sang her one...

(goes something like this)

When I go to sleep
I never count sheep
I count all the charms about
(pause)
BRENDA

And lately it seems
In all of my dreams
I walk with my arms around
(pause)
BRENDA

:teeth:

None that I know of. :(

We went out riding
Me and my girlfriend Sue
Riding through the desert
Where noone ever gets through
We got off our horses
