THURSDAY 9/18 - PECOS BILL
As a recurring theme with our trip, we took mid-day breaks and split a QS lunch. This day was no different.
We were hungry and I had a few spots I would like to eat at, one being Columbia Harbor House and the other Pecos Bill. Justin does not like seafood. I knew if I were at CHH I would want to try something he wouldn't eat, so we went to Pecos Bill instead.
The line was pretty long. Granted, it was noon, but the line was so long, haha. We grabbed a menu from the nice CM at the door and chose our meal while we waited in line.
It was an easy choice for us - we would split a taco salad. We love Mexican/southwest type food and this was something easy we both would enjoy. I had heard on the DIS that they have a great toppings bar which I knew Justin would like.
It came in a giant taco shell with ground meat. We added some lettuce, lots of cheese, and some salsa and sour cream.. YUM!!!
We finally found a seat outside, in the shade.
Along with our taco salad, we got a Diet Coke and carrot cake.

Although this place was crazy busy, the food was very good. They also have some sandwiches and burgers on the menu. I also wanted to try the Southwest Chicken salad: Southwest Chicken Salad - Mixed Greens, chicken, Monterrey jack cheese, tomato, roasted corn, jalapenos and chipotle ranch $9.19. Doesn't that sound awesome!?
We had a dinner ADR at BOG that night and I knew if I ate my own entree I wouldn't be hungry. So it was good that we split.
As you can see, we also were faced with a dessert decision - carrot or chocolate cake. Since Justin is not a big cake person, he let me choose, and I chose carrot cake. I'm not a big cake eater either, so it was unfortunately just a few bites of very moist cake with very sweet cream cheese icing before it went untouched.
This taco salad though, omg. It was spectacular!
WOULD WE RETURN: Yep! I have recently read that the taco salad is no longer offered (RIP..) but I must say we really enjoyed it and will definitely return here again. As I've mentioned about other places, it may not be an 'every trip' type of place for me. Justin is usually rather easygoing, but when he finds something he likes, he'll want to return. So I can see myself getting something from CHH and he getting something from PB in our future, haha.
TOTAL: Taco salad, $9.29
Diet coke $3.29
Carrot cake $4.19
= $17.87
We used 1 QS credit here.
Tip about dining plan: We enjoyed splitting lunch entrees. This way we could share something and have a snack later in the day. For us, this worked great. For $14 (assuming we would not get the carrot cake) I can definitely see us sharing an entree similar to this on our future trips. This let us try many different things without stuffing ourselves! Although at the end of the dining plan we had so many QS left over.. haha.
