Is there a big event 2/4-2/11?

I was just trying to book an additional room for friends during this week and online the only hotel showing availability from 2/8-2/11 was Animal Kingdom Lodge! Could this be accurate and if so, does anybody know what's happening that week? I was hoping for not so busy timing.

Just checked expedia...Port Orleans Riverside is coming up at $139/night.

Checked aaa.com...ASsp & ASmu, & POP are coming up at $79/night, CBR & CSR at $124/night, Port Orleans-Riverside Resort & Port Orleans-French Quarter Resort at $111.20/night.

Not sure why there is a difference in price for the 2 sets of mods. I thought they were all priced the same...

ETA: the reason CSR & CBR are higher, the first only has king rooms available, the later has only kings & preferred locations.

The National Dance Team championships are the first weekend in February, and the National High School Cheerleader championships are the second weekend. So be ready for groups of teenage girls, but they do stay busy with their competitions a lot of the time, so the parks probably won't be too bad! Have fun ~

It is the weekend before Valentine's day . Normally they have really cool stuff around Pleasure Island and across property. Good luck finding a room. I've tried for days and it is sold out!

A lot of schools have a winter break around that time, so the parks may be filled with people who take their vacations then.

Spring break is usually end of February, beginning of March (I don't know what schools have at that time instead of during the holidays). But the Cheerleader comps are around there.

Cheeleaders are somewhat annoying at these places. They're loud, bouncy, and think everyone wants to hear their cheers/squeels/cellphone conversations all over the park.

I'll be going from the 3rd-11th. I'm sure I'll see some cheerleaders. I'll bring extra pom-poms in case of some emergency.

I usually go in June, but I expect the crowds to not compare to then, from what I've been reading. Is this still the case?

Try splitting up your vacation, half at one place & half somewhere else, maybe then you'll have more availability

I don't think it's a busy time, those dates just aren't that far away. Check early in the morning...try calling and checking online. I got up before 3am (pacific time) and checked online on Thursday and found availability at the Boardwalk Inn for February 10th-14th. I had been checking throughout the day and couldn't find anything. Then I decided to get up early and check for cancellations and I found a standard room at the Boardwalk
What resort are you trying to book?


Do you want 2/4-2/11 or 2/8-2/11? Becuase I just checked for you and found availability at the Beach Club for 2/8-2/11 for just about every type of room.

I think (AND, HOPE) that most schools take their winter break closer to/around President's week. The beginning of Feb should be slower than then.
