Is the ice cream good at Beaches and Cream?

I have always wanted to eat the kitchen sink but none of my family ever
will eat it with me :guilty:
I still swear that I can eat it by myself if I didn't eat anything that morning.
I can eat a whole gallon thing of ice cream in one sitting .. while gaining 10 pounds that I do not need :rotfl: .

I really want to fit in this place this trip because I just want to go in it.

To me, the big risk isn't the money - its Disney, we will spend it on stupider things (though a Dole Whip is a GREAT value at Disney) - or the risk of bad ice cream (Edy's isn't bad - it just isn't what I would even bother to take out of the freezer at home for anything other than a kid's birthday party) - its really the TIME. If we are "in the area" (and we stay at BWV, so we are in the area often) and in the mood for ice cream - I'd stop and have a dish (we get out Edy's at Seashore Sweets in cone form on occasion). But the real issue is that with kids if we are going to walk over, we've made the commitment to go, and sometimes B&C can have really long waits - even if you try and hit an off time. It might be worth the money (in Disney value), it might be worth the calories, if it takes an hour to get and eat a sundae I can make at home, it isn't worth Disney time to me.

exactly.I don't understand why people will wait over an hour sometimes for what is basically diner food.

We are in the "go out of our way for it" catagory. We go every trip for lunch and have just the kitchen sink. We love it and can't imagine a trip down there without it. We always go on one of our "off days", we have it scheduled in jsut like any other TS meal.

DH and I just went last month for the first time and had a great time. The food was diner-ish, but flavorful and well cooked, the service was great and if you sit at the counter you get to watch them make the Kitchen sinks. In the 45 minutes we were there, 4 KS were ordered and made!!!

If you do go, look out for Victoria, a lovely young woman from Hungary. Say Kur-sh-nam to her (means thank you in Hungarian). She will be over the moon as she is the only Hungarian on property right now. We had a lovely chat with her last month.

And I did enjoy the ice cream, but managed to hold off the Kitchen SInk

How did you happen to know Hungarian? I'm sure you made her day!

I was wondering this too...is the Kitchen Sink worth the $$? Thought it would be nice to cool off outside the park for a bit...is it worth the walk from Epcot?

Thanks!

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Even when there is just two of us, we get it just for the experience. There is no way we can finish it with just two, but we get it anyway.

We ate there a couple of times last year. The ice cream was good (heck, it would take alot for me to think ice cream was bad:lmao: ) but I wouldn't say it was the best ice cream we've ever had. It's not like premium quality (thinking Ben and Jerry's or Hagaan Daaz) and the don't have a huge variety of flavors. But the atmosphere there is so fun that I'd definitely go back.

I have to say, I thought the gelato at the BC Marketplace was way better than the ice cream at B&C.

I have a couple questions. Where is Beach's N' Cream located? Is there some place to see their menu? What kind of prices do they have? THe banana split and the kitchen sink look awesome but I wondered what kind prices they have on them. TIA:banana:

Its at the Yacht and Beach Club - about a five or ten minute walk out the International Gateway between France and the United Kingdom.

Here is a link to the menu:

Its a very small resort restaurant, and waits can be long (particularly over meal times or right after Illuminations). The other catch you should be aware of is that to get there you sort of walk past the beautiful Y&BC pool - more than one person has ended up with a $400 a night hotel bill on their next trip because they treated their kids to a $8 sundae.

ETA: Other choices for ice cream are the Plaza Ice Cream parlour in the MK, Seashore Sweets at the Boardwalk (cones and cups and the Plaza doesn't have many sundaes) and Ghiradelli's in DTD. There isn't an "ice cream snob" place at WDW, Disney's ice cream contract is with Edy's - finding non Edy's ice cream is a lot like trying to find non-Nestle coffee at Disney. Ghiradelli's isn't Edy's, but it still isn't ice cream snob ice cream.
