Is The Candlelight Processional worth the cost?

I have booked the dinner package deal for the Candlelight Processional and I think I am having second thoughts. Maybe if I just get there early enough to wait in line that will be just as good.

I just don't think the restaurants in any of the tiers is worth the cost....Tier 3 is almost $50 a head....don't think so!

I'm a HUGE Disney fan and am actually staying at the Poly concierge for our upcoming trip but for some reason I can't justify the cost of the package and to still NOT be guaranteed a great seat. The "reserved" section is first come first served and then it's open to anyone.

I guess I've talked myself into cancelling it and just trying to wait in line!

Any opinions?
:confused3

The CP Dinner Package because we dine at LeCellier or Teppanyaki on the evening we are going to be at Epcot for CP anyway. So we get the package to get a good seat without queing up for 90 minutes before performace. That said you are right if you don't plan on a sit down meal as part of your evening at Epcot no need for the package. You can que up in noraml que and get a good seat for free.We que up 30 minutes in CP Package que about 30 minutes before performance and have always gotten great seat. The 90 minute que is lower or higher wait time depending on time of year, time of performance and who guest narrator is.I hope this makes sense to you I didn't mean to go on for so long. Have a great trip to WDW :goodvibes

the candelite processional is free! you don't need to book a dinner pkg. the pkg will get you a better seat but you can see by getting any remaining seats after the reserved or by standing in the back. :cool1:

The lines can be very long. You might want to look at who is going to be the reader for the night you plan on going and what night it might be. You do get the better seats and that can be worth it too. Besides, the cost can be worth it if you really think about what your are getting interms of the meals.

I loved it when we saw Marlee Matlin a few years ago.

The Processional is a must for us during this time of year. :Pinkbounc

We saw Marlee Matlin last year, and she was awesome. We did the package because we were going to be eating at Epcot anyway, and Restaurant Marrakesh was one of the package restaurants. We had wonderful seats. Here's a link to my pictures from that night. The year before, we saw David Ogden Stiers (who was also fabulous). We hadn't planned on going to the CP that night, but as we walked by, we discovered that we had a perfect view from the walkway! We watched the entire performance, and, although my feet were sore by the end, we truly enjoyed it.

I still can't decide whether or not we're going to go to Epcot next month. We promised ourselves "no parks, just grown-up resort activities". But it's such a shame to be SO close, and to have AP's in our pockets (which will expire at the end of our trip), so I suspect that we'll see at least one CP!

It kind of depends on when you want to go. If it's a busier time (later in the month) the lines will be much longer. As you are closer to Christmas, they get extremely long. People will start to line up 2 or 3 hours before the first show. With the dinner package, you get first shot at the seats. You'll have to line up, too, but you get into the theater before they let the others in. If you don't mind watching and standing, you can skip the dinner package.

Do you have the MYW Dining Plan? If so, it's included in the package plan. Thought I'd throw that in just in case you were, and didn't know it was included. I know this from experience, as it happened to me, and later found out Disney changed their minds and started including it into the dining plan. :earseek: So I called right away and got ressies. As far as the wait without CP ressies, I don't know. Never have been. :cool1: But sure am looking forward to it!!!!

When are you going? We've had better seats on standby in the past than the package. We always went the first week of December and had no problems getting a standby seat mid-week by getting in line 30 to 45 minutes ahead.

This will be my 8th year in a row attending Candlelight Processional.
Just wouldn't be Christmas without seeing this fabulous show!!
Please don't cancel.
