Hi. This will be our first trip with two kiddos. We have the Baby Jogger City Mini Double, which we love, (and bought after all the awesome reviews on here! thanks dis-friends!:thumbsup2). Has anyone found it difficult taking on/off the buses? I feel like sometimes picking it up can be ackward, holding it by the fold straps. That will be dh's job, while I hold the baby and wrangle the 4 year old. Just wishing it had a carry strap like Maclaren. (they don't make a generic, do they???) Thank you!

To be honest, it was kind of a pain. That is the reason why my DH will only be staying at a monorail resort on our next trip! He was not happy having to lug that thing on and off the bus, and a lot of guests were not polite on the bus - not giving him room to stand, not offering seats for kids or elderly, etc. So if we have a stroller, it's monorail all the way.

We rent the BJ city mini double on our trips. Since I dont have one at home I'm always amazing at how light it is an easy to fold. I find it easy to deal with on the buses and can guarantee it's eat easier than 2 singles (never doing that again).

It is one of the easiest double strollers to fold up. We don't have one but while staying at the WL in May, I witnessed quite a few people using this stroller. No worries, it will be great for our trip. And Amylynne, we had to fold our stroller leaving EPCOT on the monorail for our May trip. It is unusual but it does happen, particularly during busy times and depending on the CM.

We traveled in June with our three year old son and 8 month old twins. We had combi single stroller and a double city mini. It was very easy to get on and off the bus with both strollers and the three kids.

I understand lots of people have a great time with the stroller. We loved the stroller itself, so much so that I totally want one. But on the busses - it was a headache. Just giving my opinion.

I have one at home at love it, but I don't want to deal with it on the busses. I bought a used double Maclaren that folds nicely and both kids are comfortable in it.

thanks for the replies. I figured it's going to be a bit of a pain with the buses but the only other option we have is 2 singles, and that's a pain too for one person to carry both. Oh well, no biggie! :)

We just took it for the 4th of July and I didn't see any issues with it. We had several people with us so there was enough people to hold each child and then one to stand with the stroller. I can't imagine using anything else!

Honestly, yes. I LOVED it once we got to the parks (and I LOVE it at home), but DH did not like it on the busses at all. I'm not sure how the newer ones are, but mine does not stay shut when folded and DH had to keep holding it so it wouldn't fall open on anyone. Next trip he brought a strap so it would stay shut on it's own. Next trip he let me buy a new double (Aria Twin), which is SO much easier to transport!

Can't wait until we don't need to bring a stroller anymore!!

I don't know how the Minis are, but we have a double City Micro and I saw all these people in reviews complaining about how there isn't a way to keep the stroller closed. Then I saw a review about it saying there was a velcro strap. I turned the stroller upside down while it was open and lo and behold there is a velcro strap underneath the seat that says on it in big letters that it is the strap to keep the stroller folded :woohoo: You should check yours! The single City Micro has the plastic latch on the side, so maybe that's what people are expecting to see, but it seems to me that it would be a little flimsy to hold a whole double stroller closed, which might be why they have the velcro strap on it instead.

I checked mine after I read about that strap somewhere and it does have a strap underneath. My strap doesn't say anything on it and for the life of me I have not been able to figure out how in the world in works. I know DH would not be able to figure it out, especially doing it multiple times a day. He was able to rig up a strap that he used at Disney. But, if I knew how it worked I would at least store it in my garage the right way. :confused3 I did get mine when they first came out so I don't know if mine is different or if it is just too complicated for me! :rotfl::rotfl:
