I too am allergic to smoke, so I can sympathize. Although smoking is allowed in certain areas on DCL, it is usually not a problem (unlike Royal Caribbean...I got quite sick on Sovereign of the Seas, where it is much less restricted). You cannot smoke in any stateroom on DCL unless you have a verandah. Smoking is only allowed in most of the clubs and most outside areas (with exceptions such as the Mickey Pool area, which is all non-smoking). The only time I have problems is in the Rockin Bar D/Wavebands...many of the non-smoking sections are right in front of smoking, and the ventilation is bad. I can only handle about an hour in there...just enough time for the 70s party. One more risk is that you could have heavy smokers next door on a verandah, but this has only happened to us once or twice out of many cruises with a verandah stateroom...the chances are pretty slim. Another risk is smokers parking themselves next to you in chairs on Castaway Cay, so choose a seating area a little bit away from others. Other than that, you should have a great cruise! Overall, I think Disney does a great job of keeping both smokers and non-smokers happy.
