Is Sanaa always noisy at dinner?

We had a lovely dinner at Sanaa on December 11th. I commented to my bf on the way in how peaceful and romantic the place felt. After we were sat and the restaurant started filling up (but by no means full) it was so loud. My head was pounding by the time we left! Is it always like that? We would like to go again for dinner. FYI, the noise wasn't coming from any particular table it was just a lot of tables of 5-10 people and like everyone was trying to talk louder over the general noise of the restaurant. We love Jiko, too, so maybe we'll just head back over there next time. I'm hoping it was just an off night.

We've never noticed Sanaa being particularly noisy any of the times we've eaten there. And I'm really sensitive to noise:sad2:. But maybe we've just been lucky so far. To tell the truth, I'm hard pressed to name very many non-signature places that aren't noisy once the restaurants start to fill up. Just the nature of the beast I guess. Come to think of it, there are precious few signature places that are all that quiet any more, either. Gotta love that DDP....:rolleyes1

Good. Maybe it was just that night. We had a handful of very noisy meals, but I kind of expected it at the other places. And maybe because it was so quiet when we first got there is why it was so noticeable to me.

We don't find Sanaa to be any noisier than any other restaurant (particularly the "1 TS" restaurants). We also don't find it to be any less noisier either. Basically it is on par with the other restaurants on property. Personally, I find the accoustics in most of the Disney restaurants to be downright awful. I often find that I can hear conversations at other tables on the other side of the restaurant clearer than I can hear the conversation at my own table.

One of the things we have grown to love to do is that we take very late to the last seating possible for restaurants. It is just my fiancee and I, so trying to keep kids awake isn't an issue. Our meals often start off on the noisy side, but by the time we are done with our entrees it is usually peaceful and quiet. We rarely, if ever, have been rushed to leave and often get better service than we may have gotten otherwise. My fiancee has a couple of food allergies, which we note, so chefs come to talk to her about the menu when we are seated. Many times the chefs have come out after the restaurant has cleared to chat with us about anything from the menu and our meal to how our trip is going and where else we have eaten to where they are from and whatnot.

we've only been the once and the restaurant was empty. we adr'ed it for opening time, i am not sure what it is like when it is full.
