I was sure that we were told it was temporary until March of '03? Is it now permanent or is it only through 3/04? It was a favorite of ours - we went through it twice! My engineer-to-be son was very interested in the displays also. I would love to see it again in July.

From ALL EARS NET (www.wdwig.com)
Walt Disney: One Man's Dream opened Oct. 1st, 2001, inconjunction with Walt Disney World's 100 years of Magic Celebration, and has been EXTENDED INDEFINITELY. :teeth:

I really hope it never goes away. It is now one of my favorite, most inspiring attractions at WDW.

It is a great attraction, isn't it!?!?!? Seems like it just really belongs there, doesn't it. Hope it stays too.

In my opinion, attractions should be kept for at least three years.

One point that was mentioned regarding One Man's Dream, was that some of the materials on display were on loan and due to be returned to their owners sooner, such as before March 2003. Not sure whether loan extensions were gotten for all, or alternate exhibits substituted.

Wish Horizons (at Epcot) was kept longer. It seemed to be sporadic in its last years , and I was there only when it was temporarily closed.

I agree... definitely glad this one is still around! I hope they plan to keep it for a very long time!!

seashoreCM, I too wish they had kept Horizons longer as well... I was lucky to have ridden it as much as I did as a kid!

It should definitely be permanent. Ever since they closed the Walt Disney Story in MK, this is something that has been lacking. There needs to be an area to give some background and history. Surveys of kids before the 100 years celebration found that many of them thought Walt was a fictional character, not a real person.

thanks guys- you made my day. Sorry I didn't respond sooner- I was gone several days again.

I will be looking forward to visiting it again!!!!

Yep, it's here to stay and worth the real estate its on....Walt deserves a special nod.

I am glad to read that it is staying. We loved the exhibit and the movie afterwards.

Hello,
I just wanted to let everyone know the One Man's Dream is extended until 2005. I do work at that attraction as well as the making of the haunted mansion. But everything at OMD is on loan from Walt's Daughter, Diana. For now, we are here for at least a little while longer.

Perhaps there is a way of contacting Diana and thanking her for the wonderful donated use of the displays? It is such a vital part of the park and hopefully if she realized the effect it has on people she would extend it even beyond that time - perhaps with rotating exhibits. It can't be easy to have a place to keep all those things yourself anyway!

Hi,
I would just like to clarify that my daughter, Jacki, posted the above information under my name. I wish I was working at One Man's Dream, but it is my daughter working the college program.
Stop by and say Hi to her. She is the one with the long curly "red hair".

Jan
