Is My Perfectly Princess Tea worth the price?

I have two girls and going to the Princess Tea would cost $415 plus tax. It does look very charming, and I have a friend that said her little girl loved it, but what do you all think. Can the experience justify the price?:confused3

IMHO, $415 is a lot of money. You will get responses saying worth every penny and opinions not worth the money.

It is a personal encounter, very 'girly', each girl gets the doll and the 1-1 attention. If your girls enjoy dressing up, tea and that sort of thing, they would love it.

If budget is not an issue, and the above rings true, could be a fun activity.

But it is $415! :faint:

Didn't help, did i? :rolleyes2

I think if I knew for sure my girls would say that was the best thing ever. I would say sold, but with a 6 and 4 year old they could say, "yea that was fun". And for 415 it should be the best experience ever, right?

I have never gone, but I am very familiar with it, and I personally would skip it. I am actually shocked that people spend that much money on it, but I am sure that some people would be shocked at what I choose to spend my money on so no flames please!! :flower3:

What about doing the boutique experience? Still very princessy and special, but less $$ and you get more with it.

NO WAY! Seriously-thats alot of money. No thanks-I'd like to hear a trip report if you go...but I wouldnt spend that kind of money a 2 hour tea. Just me though. I'm sure its over the top-just not in my budget.:confused3

If I had the extra money and it was something my DD really, really, really wanted to do, I would find a way to incorporate it into a birthday or Christmas gift. But I would never spend that kind of money until she was old enough to remember it.
I think the only one who can answer your question is you and your family as you know all of your specifics.
If you do choose to go, I would love to see pictures.

On the one hand, *that* much money for the experience is nothing short of ridiculous...

On the other, look at it this way... 10 years from now you won't miss that money, but you'll have the memories and the pics/vids of your girls at an age they'll never be again. Moments to last a lifetime, and all that good stuff.

Oh man, I didn't help either, did I ? ;)

We just did it on New Year's Day. My DD6 loved it. Just loved it. She still sings the song Rose Petal taught them using sign language. It is so neat. I think it's a once in a lifetime type thing. We did it once, it was great. I would LOVE to do it again, but for the price, we will move on to something else.

If you can swing the money, I would definitely do it. The girls get a doll, crown, roses and cute little extras. Their "tea" is brought out to them in a tea pot of their very own. It was such a sweet experience that we will never forget.

Only you know how easily affordable this is based on your finances, but having done the tea, I thought it was worth every penny. I took my sister as her Christmas present when she was about 6 years old. Her favorite princess was Sleeping Beauty, so getting to see Aurora with the one on one attention was a big deal for her. The whole experience was great, and I took lots of pictures and video, and she went home with her princess doll, who she loves dearly. I only had to pay for two people (her and I) but I thought it was worth every penny.

I can't imagine how it could be worth the money, not to me.

Is an hour or so worth half a mortgage payment?

Buy a teapot and some fancy cups and have a tea party with her at home. It's something Disney tends to make us forget, but I guarantee you - you have a fancy-dress tea party with your daughter one day and THAT will be a lifetime memory for her. Better yet - make it a biweekly tradition. You are far more special to her than a stranger in a pretty dress ever will be, and you can't afford NOT to spend that kind of quality time with her when it's so simple.

I was thinking of doing this for dd for her 5th birthday. I've struggled with it as I couldn't leave my other dd out so that makes 3 of us, plus dh wants to see the girls experience it. Its sooo much money but to be honest, its something I would really like to share with them. That, and the fact that dh said go for it. We are coming a long way for this trip, I don't want to go without when its something we are all looking forward to.

I am going to take my DD4 princess: in April. We already made the the reservation.:cheer2: We are doing the BBB at the Castle before it and then the Perfectly Princess Tea Party......:)
DD4 is crazy about this kind of thing so I think she will love it. IMHO if you can afford it go for it!!!! Life is too short.....:flower3:
They also have the Wonderland tea party at the Floridian weekdays from 1:30-2:30. The kids get to have a tea party with Alice. It looks really cute and is alot less money......maybe your girls would like that and it wouldn't be so expensive......I have my DD signed up for that one too!!!:)
Good luck with whatever you choose:flower3:

My girls did that last time in December 2007. They absolutely loved it. It was about $30 at the time. Great value I thought. The only thing is parents were not allowed in so we didn't get to watch the experience whereas we can with the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. The girls each got a photo with themselves with Alice and the Mad Hatter to bring home. They have asked to do it again this time. We had a lovely walk around the GF while we were waiting for them and a drink by the pool.

We did this 2 years ago. Given the cost of the doll and the amount of character interaction, it's priced right. I am glad we did it. It was a special mommy/daughter time and I'll remember it forever. That said, my daughter was 5 then and doesn't remember it at all! I have pictures though!

Whether it's worth the $$$, though, is a very subjective thing ...

I think that it may be worth the money if $400 isn't that much money to you and your family. Every families income and budget is different and to many families $400 is an easy part of their monthly disposable income. (It's not for us, so I'd never consider $400 for tea)

Another possibility (if you plan on going back to Disney in a few years) is to sell it as a "Big Girls" event, and only take your DD6. Promise to take your DD4 when she's 6. (If you're planning another trip around that time)

You mentioned that with 6 and 4 it can be hit and miss for excitement, but I have a hunch that your 6 year olds interest will perk WAY up if it's just mommy and her time!

If you're traveling with another adult the 4 year old could have a special visit to the BBB at the castle during that time with them and have some solo time in the MK without big sister bossing her around. Buy her a special treat from the confectionery and wait in line to see the princesses in Toontown. She can feel like a princess without the cost of the tea party and she has this special event to look forward to when she gets older.

We've split up our boys before and where it sounds like a breeding ground for jealousy, it's worked out great! Just more stuff to think about. :)

I can see both sides of the debate - it is alot of money, and that money could be used for other things - yet, it is a one time experience and you will have pics & memories from the day with your daughters.

Since this will be our first trip to Disney in May, we have decided to go for it. We are going all out on this trip, so just budgeting it in along with everything else. I'm adding my DD16 on as an extra adult so that she can come along as well. My DD10 is excited about it - this will probably be the last year before she feels like she has outgrown it, so I want to take advantage of that.

It will probably be a one time thing for us (given the ages of my DD's), but I think that spending the day with them both will be well worth the money spent.

Of course, we are the same parents that spent $900 on concert tickets (for a family of 6) to see Hannah Montana last year at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo :scared:

They are only young once so I say enjoy them while you can - they grow up way too fast!

My mom took DD4 on NYE this year--I wanted them to do it because DD LOVES Aurora and I felt like this was sort of her "magic" year--I know that she won't really remember it, but I think the little ones get much more into it. It was very sweet, and I'm glad that she did it, but I decided not to go with them because the cost of adding an adult just wasn't worth it. I stood outside and saw the highlights and it was special for both of them. DD seemed so in awe of it, and looked very serious throughout! We also did the princess lunch at Akershus, and due to the princess interaction there, my guess is that she liked that even more!!!

The only thing I'd add for those with older girls who are going more for the tea than the princess interaction...depending on where you live, The Ritz Carlton does an AMAZING tea that is actually much better--and less expensive--than this princess one. They do one for children around Christmas, and then I'm pretty sure they have a regular high tea most other days of the year. It is INCREDIBLY well done, and very "fancy"--just an idea that would cost MUCH less than $400 for those that aren't going mostly for Aurora and the Disney doll (and you can buy a bunch of princess outfits for 18'' dolls throughout Disney). Good luck!

Thank you to everyone that posted their opinions. I really do appreciate each of them. Of course, I'm still very undecided. I do have plans for the BBB, not the most expensive package just the moderate. The girls did this last year & it was definitely worth the money. I'm only considering the tea because I think we may opt out of CRT this time around, and this would take it's place. I wouldn't think twice about the dollar amount except adding $160.00 for my dd4 seems expensive, but yet I can't see myself taking dd6 & not dd4. Don't get me wrong, I do think that every child deserves special one-on-one time with their parents, but dd4 is just soooooo into princesses that I know she would love it. Decisions, decisions. What to do? :confused3

Yes-it is a lot of money but when my DD is driving herself to school, and bringing her boyfriends home, and doesnt have time for her mom :sad2: I will look back on this amazing experience and give ANY amount of money to do it again.
It was worth every penny & is my (and my DDs) best memory of our amazing trip! It was something special just for me & her, we LOVED it! Rose Petal alone was worth going-she is so wonderful! DO IT!!! You won't regret it, I promise! They are only little once!! princess:
If i can figure out how to get pics on my post I will show you how amazing it was!:confused3

Or you could give the kids $100 in Disney dollars each, and you and DH could go for a $200 dinner. That might be memorable too:confused3 Just sayin....:)
