Is Mineral Makeup "Addicting"?

Boy I running into a lot of questions now, what is foiling and how do you do it? Is it for eye shadow? And which brush would you use for this?

Thanks :thumbsup2 I know this sounds funny but what is a lip balm that you would dip into the True to use it on your lips?

Seriously, you can use any lip balm from Chapstick to Blistex! It's great!

First you apply your glimmer to the lid dry, then you take your synthetic brush, dip it in water, squeeze the excess out, dip it in the same glimmer and go back over what you just did with the wet glimmer -- makes it a very pretty "foil" effect.

A synthetic brush works really well because it holds the color better and applies it more true to what is in the jar. My favorite is the taklon concealor brush BE sells. You also might want to look at BE's Wet/Dry brush.

I appreciate all your help with this really! :goodvibes I bought the concealer and it came with a brush, can I use that brush for both the concealer and when applying the all over face civerage to my eyes?

If I wet that brush does it dry ok or ruin the brush? Would I still be able to use the same brush for two completely different things?

Yep! Or you can put on the chapstick and then dip your finger in your minerals and dab them on your lips.

I would wash the brush after using color on it, if you plan on using it for concealing. You could look funny with True on your spots! ;) Just use a tiny bit of your shampoo and wash the brush and rinse well. Lay it on the edge of your sink to the bristles are hanging over the sink. That way air gets all around it and dries quickly.

I can't believe this thread has been dormant since July!!! I thought for sure I saw it a few weeks ago.

Anyhow, did anyone see the show on QVC the other day? They had the 3-pc wine country eyeshadows. They looked so pretty. I ordered a sample set from ebay and now I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for them to get here. :rotfl: Is anyone else like this?

I watched all three shows the other day and did great until the last hour. I ordered the Bare Escentuals Jewel Tools Brush and Bare Escentuals Lip Teasers 6-pc Mini can't wait until they arrive.

okay, I admit I am too lazy to go back and read all 24 pages of this thread so I'll just ask my question.....I have really, really bad rosacea...does the BE cover it up or make it worse??? My skin is so blotchy and I'm tired of everyone asking what is wrong.

Julie, I can't speak from personal experience, but I've heard several people say it helps their rosacea. My sister included. It took me several years to get her on the BE bandwagon and now she loves it. I don't know if you can get samples directly from BE, but you can get samples on ebay. I've buy most of my minerals on ebay and if you want a name of a seller, I can give you a couple that I've used.

Beth, yes, please, I would love the names of some eBay sellers so I can check it out. This may end up being my Christmas present to myself. :teeth:

Although Julie, you may just want to buy a starter kit through BE or QVC. That way you get all the brushes and the different ecoutrements to try out. Both places offer a money back guarantee. And you'll get a DVD as well. But I would definitely recommend the ebay samples for trying different eyeshadow or blush colors, etc.

Thanks Beth.......got the PM. I was looking at Christa's website too. I know what I'll be doing this weekend besides Christmas stuff!

Hey! I bought the wine country sample off of ebay too, about 4 months ago. I love the colors! I love BE color products!

I got my sample colors today!! :cool1: I'm just continually amazed by how beautiful all the BE colors are. I can't wait to try these especially to see if the well rested works on my under eye circles.

 This past year has been soo busy with BE, that I haven't even been able to keep all the colors updated!

Bump

Mineral Makeup virigin here thinking of purchasing my first set. What brand??? Thanks.

Most everyone here uses Bare Minerals, myself included. You can get starter kits from their website, QVC, Sephora and Ulta. I know some like Everyday Minerals and Sheer Cover as well. I've been using BM for nearly 4 years now and I love it. I only get full sized containers of foundation and get sample sizes for eyeshadows, blushes, etc. That way I can try more colors without breaking the bank. 1/4 teaspoon sample sizes last me several months, if not longer.
