Is Mickey's fun wheel the most scariest ride in the park?

The scariest part of my Mickey Wheel ride 2 weeks ago was the flying vomit from the swinging car above us. :crazy2: Luckily it missed my daughter and I but the 2 unfortunate young men in the car with us got showered.

What I don't understand is there are seatbelts on heimlech's chew chew train, but NOTHING on mickey's death wheel. There aren't even grab bars anywhere to hang on for dear life as your large toddler hurls toward you. Only teeny tiny mesh windows to dig your fingernails into and pray for it to be over. Ironically, that large toddler begs to go on again every time.

DD13 rides anything and everything ... she rode Mickey's Wheel of Death ONE TIME and never again. I know she'd agree with the OP, yes, it's the scariest. I can't personally say one way or the other as I've never ridden.

I don't find it to be that bad, although I do agree that the line is a bit much and the loading/unloading part takes up the vast majority of your ride time.

I think the scary part for some is how long and drawn out it is. On a coaster everything happens so fast and on a ride like Splash the thrill is over before you really have a chance to think about it. With the swinging fun wheel cars you get the anticipation of wondering when you're going to start sliding and then the swinging seems like it lasts forever.

For me, I am extremely scared of heights, however, I can do Screamin without any problems (it is one of my favorite rides in DCA). I think for me, the reason why I get scarred of Mickey's Fun Wheel, is how it constantly stops to let passengers on and off the ride, I think if we didn't have to stop so much, I would be much better off...I think :). I rode the stationary cars before (with my DD) and was freaking out the whole time, but when we went back in June of 2016 I decided that I wanted to try the swinging gondolas at least once and I REALLY freaked out. What was worse was my lovely DH had the camera focused on me the whole time and taped our entire ride. It was the funniest thing I saw, especially once I figured out I was being taped. We are heading back to DLR for Christmas this year and I am working up the courage to get back on the gondolas...and I think I even may go for the swinging gondolas, but we will see :goodvibes.

DH calls it Wheel O' Terror or Wheel of Death. And he's done the drop ride on top of the Stratosphere Hotel in Vegas. It is a very pretty ride with the cars swinging gentling in the setting sun. And then you make the mistake of going on one. Stationary I can handle--I love heights. All the roller coasters-no problem. But those swinging cars! It seemed like the ride would never end. We stumbled off it and headed for TSMM where the slight spinning finished us off.

I can definitely relate to this...I too call it the "Mickey Wheel of Death", and I too can handle roller coaster rides (the only ride I refuse to go on is TOT or the new GOTG only because I can't hand rides that just drop you). And I also have to agree with how it just fits perfectly in Paradise Pier with Screamin nestled right behind it, and when I look at it I just say to myself..."That's not so bad, I can handle it, no problems", until I am already on the thing and then I am saying..."What the (insert a not so Disney word in here) did I get myself into!!!!!" :rotfl:. I think that is why I am mustering up the courage to do it again, because I know that I will more then likely be going on it anyways.

I hate drop rides too, but I tried TOT twice. I can handle it but hate it. I think twice is the good ol' college try. I can do splash when necessary, but never chose to ride it on my own.

Exactly what my son always says. He'll ride anything....but the Fun Wheel of Death. I have video of him (at age 7) turned over to his seat hanging onto it for dear life. He's not a fan.

Yes. Mickey's wheel is the scariest ride ever.

I was on a HUGE rollercoaster that broke down as we were almost at the top of a straight 90 degree vertical ascent. We were suspended in the air and then the tracks malfunctioned and we fell backwards (straight down) until we slammed back down to the beginning of the ride.

I would still ride that again before I rode those spinning death containers.

I rode in a stationary car with DW, DS14, and DS12. Even though it was a "stationary" car it still swung a tiny bit which was nerve wracking for everyone. Every now and then I'll blurt out "Mickey's fun wheel is once again ready to take you to new heights!" just to see the looks of terror on their faces.

I will agree with the other posters about Goofy's Sky School. I seriously thought we were going to tip over the side on some of the corners.

Goofy's Sky School for sure - scariest ride in the park...however, Mickey's Fun Wheel may be scarier but I'm NEVER going to ride it to find out...

Goofy's Sky School doesn't feel scary to me. Just painful. Those turns hurt.

Wow, now that's a statement!

The swinging gondolas don't bother me. Silly Symphony Swings I don't like and Goofys Sky School are the bad ones. Both children's rides, both scary as hell. I laugh pretty much the whole ride on each to keep from crying... lol

Funny, I hate negative G rides but I really like Mickey's FWOD. TOT is never going to happen for me but I like the roller coast type rides (Space was the last one I got used to). My wife has no problem with TOT but HATES MFOWD.
