Is MDE Down for Anyone else today 5/21/16 ?

I managed to get the Frozen FP for Epcot this morning but nothing else is working - either the app or the website. Every now and then I get through but it won't complete the process of booking more FP. It also showed only me in my party (and there are 5 of us).

Anyway it's not just you ;)

We just arrived at Disney springs and I can't get in on app or mobile site. Cast member said it was down...

Not to worry, I'm not freaking out about it yet. Just an observation. It certainly isn't the first time the whole thing has gone wonky due to overload and it sure won't be the last. The only thing I wanted to do was see if FEA was going to be tier 1 or tier 2. If it was tier 2 I would have swapped out SE for it, but I'm not giving up my Soarin' FP for Frozen. I'll get that some other time.

Was able to get Tusker House with Jungle Book Dining Package and Frozen fast passes this morning. I did not see the Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark. Just tried to get back on to get those fast passes and the whole MDE is down for me too (both app and website).

I managed to buy tickets for my short notice trip but can't make FP reservations :( Hope it comes back soon!

We just left MK. The whole system seems to be jacked. Fastpasses are not working for some park guests and they are giving paper ones at Customer Relations. CM just told me it is system wide but should be back up in 2 hrs.

I was just going to ask what in the world happens to people in the parks when this happens. I think it's crazy that Disney bases so much of their day to day operations on a system that can't handle the strain they put on it. They really should have staggered the release of dining packages and fastpasses. Animal Kingdom should have been first since it is opening first, Frozen in a few days.

I think that's the logic behind midnight FP+ day openings ... Put peak online demand when it can't impact park operations.

Or management could mandate all decisions need to be made 61+ days in advance or you get to double your IT spending budget.

They should have been prepared. It's ridiculous. I was able to get Jungle Book this morning (8 am Eastern), then had friends who were telling me the craziness at the parks.

It is back up right now. I suggest that you take screen shots of all your reservations, fast passes etc. We had a minor problem last May and our screen shots made everything so much easier.

Welcome to MDE on the day of a release of new activities

You would think that Disney would anticipate the increased strain on the website on these days, but Noooooo. Took me forever to reserve the dining package for the Jungle Book. But I've had no luck with fastpasses.

It'll only let you see what you might have, not make new ones- at least for me on both the app and online. And it ate all our weekend ones.

One would think after countless failures following a launch they'd know what to expect. They must suffer short term memory loss

What gets me is that the Disney website in general has been flaky for years, not just MDE. Lock up trying to book vacations etc. You'd think that after many years the issues would be resolved.

I switched to Safari on my Mac and was successful in logging into my MDE. Strange, because I usually have more issues with Disney on Safari.
