Is Jersey Week Really Bad?

I just realized that I booked my trip during Jersey Week. Are the crowds really that bad? I'll be there 10/31-11/08, catching the last MNSSHP and the first MVMCP.

Most crowd calendars I looked at have the crowd levels at low this week, so I wasn't too concerned when I booked, but that was before I started reading things about Jersey week. Anyone have any past experience with this week?

I disagree (respectfully). You will be fine until Nov. 6th when runners and families start coming in for the F&W half marathon on the 8th. It is also the weekend before a federal holiday (Nov. 11), which will draw more crowds of its own accord. My experience the past two years has been spring break level crowds Fri-Mon. of the F&W half.

I don't know how they are now, but in 2010, it was okay. Thursday, Friday and Saturday were a little busier...just go to the recommended park. I enjoyed lower crowds (November is not the typical fall break) and met a lot of nice people from Jersey.

Our first trip 4 years ago was during Jersey week. We didn't know it existed and didn't notice a change at the end of the week.

This time we are there Nov 6-16th. We will be at MK on the 7th, and spend the day at the beach on the 8th, then DHS on the 9th.

I think that should allow us to avoid the "busiest" parks until Jersey Week is over.

I am interested to see if it is something we notice this time.

I've been there the last few years for Jersey Week, and haven't had a problem…..Last year, we were there for Jersey Week, the last F&W weekend, the first MVMCP, and the F&W race….We stuck to our plan of going to the most recommended park, and had no issues!

Oh no, that's when I am going also.

The crowds are not out of control, just a higher concentration of people from New Jersey.

went during jersey week this past year. It wasn't bad at all. Being from Philly it was fun meeting so many people from the south jersey area on the buses and in the parks.

We are going that first week of November also. We have been the first week of Oct the last 3 years and it was fairly crowded with fall breaks and Columbus day, so I am hoping this will be the same or better.

Well, some friends from Missouri went during Jersey week a few years ago and they said it was REALLY bad. They were expecting hundreds of Snooki, J-Wow, Pauly D and Teresa Guidice-types and were majorly disappointed to encounter only "normal" people!!

Honestly last year I went the first half of November and it was busier than I thought it would be, not overwhelming though.

Usually I go sometime in Sept/Oct and it was def busier in November. I have never gone the last week of October and I am going Oct 25- Nov 4 this year, kinda curious how that might be?

I've gone Jersey week twice and I thought the crowd levels were great. As a matter of fact my favorite trip of all was our last one and it was a Jersey week trip.

Just realized I'll be there during Jersey week. Had to move my DVC reservation around a bit and the only rooms available were Saratoga, and that was very spotty too.
