I have been Disney vacationing my whole life and am now planning my own "Disneymoon" with my fiance who popped the question last march after a very magical night at the MK. My question is after staying at numerous disney resorts over the years i am thinking for my own honeymoon about staying at disneys old faithful club at WL. I have never stayed at WL before nor have i stayed disney concierge but i wanted to do something special for our honeymoon. since he gave me the suprise of my life when he proposed to me at disney last spring. so im looking for advice from people who have stayed concierge. is it worth the extra buck?

Concierge adds $100 or more to your rate. Some people look at it as a kind of trade-off because you get free food (continental breakfast, heavy hors d'oeuvres, desserts), expedited check-in, itinerary planning, and sometimes a better room location. If you are on the free dining plan, however, the food thing is probably not going to factor into the equation. And if you spend all your time in the parks and not in your room/at the hotel, that's another thing to consider. For me, I would be endlessly crunching numbers to see if I thought the perks were "worth" the cost, but that's just me. :cutie:

For you, having stayed at Disney numerous times, adding concierge might be worth it just to have a different experience, and one can't really quantify that. If you can afford it, I say go for it - I don't think anyone's ever regretted paying for concierge unless it was really a financial stretch and they didn't feel they got their money's worth.

It only adds about $45ish a night at AKL or WL.

We loved club level at Animal Kingdom Lodge in June. They made our ADRs. They also changed whatever we wanted. Now that there is online dining its not as big of a perk.

We were on the dining plan, but we ate breakfast in the lounge every morning. DH also got an afternoon snack and smoothie. We ate cookies and brownies every afternoon. We stocked up on pop and water.

The CMs there go out of their way to help you. I was sick one day and they made sure that DH could get anything that I needed.

It also allowed us to book the Sunrise Safari and gave us a discounted rate on the Wayanama Safari. (exclusive to AKL).

I've heard CL at Wilderness Lodge isn't all that great because its a small room rather than a lounge. Check out some of the reviews on the resorts board.

hey thanks guys this is def helping im going to talk to the fiance about it this weekend were still unsure if we want to stay at WL or PL but WL looks like it has the better rate. And seems more our style plus ive already stayed at Polynesian 3 times in the past. Thought I'd change it up a bit and stay some place I havent stayed this time. But yeah the CL at WL doesnt look quite as nice as some of the others but still worth it to me to try for the 1st time. I would still like some more input from the diser concierge veterans where are you guys?? thanks!

We are also looking into staying CL for our honeymoon next year. We will be staying at the Poly and I have read excellent reviews of the CL there- the food selections look excellent (people say the breakfast selections get a little monotonous though), we plan to use the itinerary planning to help plan some of our special honeymoon activities, plus the Hawaii building is a prime location. I would definately check out the resort section on the boards and hopefully a seasoned diser concierge veteran will help you out... let us know what they say!

Hi-
I've stayed on the concierge level at WL several times in the past few years. If you have the extra $ to afford it, I think it would be nice for a honey moon. I defienitly wouldn't say it's anything too phenomonal or necessary - but it is nice to have the snacks and beverages around when you're coming and going, and they are really, really helpful and friendly at the desk up there. It's impressive that they seem to know all the guest's names and greet you by name as you're coming and going (the concierge desk up there is by the bank of elevators). All in all it's a nice touch, but if you have the meal plan or are in the parks all day or would rather eat at the restaurants opposed to typical buffet food without much variety it probably wouldn't be worthwhile..but like I said, for a honey moon why not treat yourself? :)

Hey thanks everyone! So far I have just a standard room booked at WL but I have heard great things about PY especially the Hawaii building thats a bit out of my price range lol. But if you can afford it I say go all out! So I've determined If we have the extra money to upgrade closer to the wedding we definetly will. Especially if it gives more of a personable experience that seems more like the Disney I grew up knowing and loving as a kid the Magic Disney. And really who doesnt want a little bit of added magic on a honeymoon!!

we booked the Concierge level at the GF for our wedding. I have stayed there years ago, but my DF hasnt. Yes its an added expense, but look at it this way. It is your wedding/honeymoon so why not splurge, and isnt it about time that you spent something on yourself instead of everyone else coming to the wedding.
