For those of you who have put certain people in rooms based on their castaway levels, but didn’t sleep in those exact rooms, was it worth all the hassle? I feel like doing this is going to be a pain when it comes to KTTW cards. If we get to the port and put everyone back in their appropriate rooms, will they take away the prior bookings made under the old room order. Tell me the best way to go about doing this.

My family traveled with another family. The cruise was their first time. We "placed" their son in our room and our son in their room. Because my son was Silver, they now could enter the ship with us and request excursions at the same time. On paper, during the cruise, we did not change this status. In reality, we gave our boys back to one another. This meant though that we had to sign paperwork so the kids could get off the ship with either set of parents and we had to look carefully at our bills at the end of the trip to make sure one son did not go on a spending spree. The card must not have been a hassle because I don't even remember solving it.

The best way to do it is:
  • Switch one person from each stateroom(who would cost the same) like in my example.
  • Link your staterooms
  • Get on the ship; do not change it at port.
  • Sign the appropriate paperwork if you are dealing with children (this was truly the most stressful part. We didn't want to be told the paperwork was wrong and we couldn't take our son off the boat. This didn't happen though.
  • Make sure the charges go to the correct account or if spending the same just agree with your friend to pay the bill
  • Have fun
Because we were truly traveling together; sharing a rental car, etc...... this actually made everything easier knowing our PAT time was the same, etc........
