I am doing a split stay so I am looking for a car for the second half of my trip.

The difference between renting at the car care center and dropping off at mco and getting to mco on ME and picking up and returning there is about $65.

thanks for your help

The real question is actually for you to answer: is two to three hours of your vacation time worth $65?

It will take about an hour (or little more) to get to MCO and back, then however long it takes to get the rental car. Add in prep time and post arrival activities (getting through the resort gate, parking, walking to the room/family) and it will be an extra hour or so.

If this and the mental diversion is worth the extra money, then go for it. Some may say the time and personal costs of such an action is worth paying $65. Remember to think in the context of you being in active vacation mode, instead of being at home/work logical mode. ;)

I would try a few different coupon codes to see if you can get a better rate. Some of them exclude the 1 way fee. I'm doing a 1 way MCO to WDW in July and Dollar with the BJs coupon doesn't charge the fee. Go to mousesavers.com if you need codes to play with.

I've been checking rates with Alamo for last week of October. I found there is a HUGE difference in price if you pick up at the airport versus on property at the Dolphin or Car Care Center near the MK. I made my reservation for the morning after I arrive and to return it the afternoon before I leave. It shaved two days of the rental which turned it into a one-week rental for a midsize SUV at $303 using their frequent flier card. To pick up and drop off at MCO pulls up for $626.
