YIKES!!!!!! I feel bad for everyone who is getting snow right now! I wouldn't even know what to do in the snow. I was just happy to be able to wear T-shirts again instead of Tank Tops. Southern California does have it's advantages.

Wendy I hope you have a fabulous weekend! And best of luck to you with the procedures next week!

Grumpy Grandma you have a great time at VWL, wish I could be joining you, but it just wasn't in the cards.

I'm going to have to check out these ABD trips and see what some of them are all about. I've never paid much attention to them because I figured they were pretty physical and not ADA friendly.

We're just plugging away here. I got my 15 minute nursing degree yesterday and have been administering intravenous antibiotics. The infection is starting to clear up so I hope that we get back to semi normal soon around here.

I was so hoping that it would not snow, but it did.... I am NOT ready for winter...

With the funky weather we've been having it might be back in the 80's next week!

I just wasn't ready to bring all my plants in, had not made room for the tropical jungle yet.

I'm sure some of the ABD trips have to be ADA friendly. There are quite a few Adult Only trips also, which I think would be nice.

Did the infection get so bad they have to do intravenous? I'm so sorry, your DP must be miserable :( I'm glad it's starting to clear up, I hope things go smoothly from here on out.

Yeah the oral medication wasn't cutting it. Turns out it was celulitis. The doctor went straight for vancomayacin (sp?), if you're familiar with drugs. :confused3 It's starting to clear up now, and the pain is lessening. The doc is telling me that she should be fine for the Dec. trip, so I hope she's right. Now I just have to wean her off the morphine so she can stay awake and is not confused and disoriented! That wouldn't be pretty hearing voices at WDW! :rotfl2:

Alison, I am so glad you canceled your trip. What an ordeal for Fran :( Did she have to be hospitalized at all? I'm surprised it took them so long to realize it is cellulitis. That morphine is some pretty strong stuff!

No, she didn't have to be hospitalized, but that's part of my crash course in nursing. I guess our Dr. is becoming more overworked because she usually catches things more quickly, we talked daily after the initial visit and she asked me about the wound, but from what she told me (and my optimism) I probably let her to believe it was getting better, Fran didn't speak up that the pain was getting worse until it was unbearable which was when we did the scan and in house appointment. By the point we saw the Dr. and she knew it was worse, she was concerned the infection had gone into the bone. It had not, so we were OK.

I'm just looking forward to our trips to SSR, VGC, AKV and BLT and hoping that she is all better for each of those trips. I did her evening fluids OK, it went a little faster than it was supposed to, but hopefully they have a margin of error for idiots like me!

On my phone so it's hard to type but I wanted to say how happy I am that Fran is doing better. So sorry I won't see you this week at WDW!

Good morning, Jamborinis and Kidanites! :sunny:

Alison - I am glad that Fran is doing better. Bob and I have often discussed how fortunate that I am intelligent enough to know what is going on and able to learn how to care for him. :rotfl: Seriously, I know how hard you have been working these past few weeks.

We missed the snow; just had a cold, cold rain followed by a hard freeze last night. Crazy weather! I hope you all who are north of us fared well with the snow! :eek;

Glad they figured out it was cellulitis and she is getting better!!!!It is a little scary!! My DS14 got peri-orbital cellulitis when he was 9 months old. The infection was in his eyelid and eyeball already!!! They said it could spread to his brain!! He was in the hospital for 6 days on iv antibiotics!!! They said would be in 10 days but he responded well to the meds.

At least you can still go in December!!! The decorations are so pretty so that will be a bonus!!!

Good morning everyone!! It did not snow here thank goodness. Hope everyone is faring well with the snow. We are heading to downtown St. Louis today to go see the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS WORLD SERIES CHAMPS in the celebration parade!!!!!! We are very excited!!!

Wow you guys have a lot of trips planned!! I will list some of our if that is ok

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Corinna, we have not.decided yet, i have never been to the UK but I want to visit. There were some mice airfare deals here to fly round trip for $300. So we thought we would just fly over and visit. Do you have recommendations?

Well, London is a must do. I would also recommend Canterbury, Cambridge and York. During the summer, I would recommend Devon/ Cornwell and the Lake District, but that would not be much fun in December. Of course, my home town Manchester is also well worth a visit and I would be only too happy to give you the guided tour.

I shall make a point to read them! 7 with one more booked means good times were had :). I can't wait for ours, I've read such good things from so many people.

We had a fantasti time on all of our cruises. Not only is the 8th cruise booked, but I am plotting number 9 at the moment.

We're just plugging away here. I got my 15 minute nursing degree yesterday and have been administering intravenous antibiotics. The infection is starting to clear up so I hope that we get back to semi normal soon around here.

I continue to keep the two of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Corinna

:cool1: We survived the Nor'Easter. Living near the bay has its advantages as we hardly got much snow just rain but my family a little more north received upto 8 inches of that wet heavy snow.

I have only been to Portland (Which I loved the people) and Bar Harbor (loved the Cadillac mountain)

I saw that your DH had a Shipyard Tshirt in one of your photos. Believe it or not in all our trips in the past 20 years I have only been to Portland and BoothBay otherwise we just go into North Conway or stay at the house in Maine. Everything else just seems too far away:rotfl:

I didn't believe it would happen but it is snowing in Maryland, and it is cold! I hope Rhode Island doesn't get 7-10 inches, that would be horrible! I'm using the phone and the connection isn't good enough for miltiquotes so will be back later, just wanted to catch up on all my reading.

Stay warm everybody!

I think it is going to be a long winter. :sad2:

Glad to hear she is doing better.:goodvibes I had celloulitis once by getting my legs waxxed:scared1: It was before our trip to Disney in 2006 and I had to take all my medicine down with me. Not fun especially in the heat.

Glad to hear that she is doing better! And yes, I do believe they allow for the margin of error! I remember giving shots to my son and taking out his line one time and he shot half of the heparin across the room!

Good Morning Jamborinis and Kidanites! :goodvibes

I have a lot of catching up to do!

YAY - Welcome back Kathy!!! :yay: How is the new house? :cloud9:

To all our Jamborini & Kidanite friends in the northeast -- stay safe and warm. This was definitely one for the record books. :headache:

Alison - happy to hear that Fran is doing better. I know you are busy caring for her, but make sure you take care of yourself too.

And finally, to E&BMom: YAY - WOO HOO - AND CONGRATS!!! :cheer2::woohoo::yay: I was (quietly) pulling for the Cards and I am thrilled that they won!! I have a lot of family in Texas so I have to be careful!!

Happy Sunday everyone! :goodvibes

Nice trips... We all share, thanks for sharing yours....

My DH wants to take our family to the Outer Banks also, but we never seems to find the time to do it.

Do you have a rental company that you like to use?

Corina,

I will coordinate with you most defiantly before we start planning...

Would love to meet up with while we are there...

We are working on our OBX vacation for July too! Probably over July 4th week. When are you going and what area are you staying in?

We have been going to the Outer Banks for 17 yrs!! My in-laws live in Delaware and have been going forever. They rent a nice house and we all meet there. it's a hike for us. We fly STL to Norfolk, rent a car and drive the last 2 1/2 hrs. We have lots of fun though!!

This year we are going July 22-29. We like a Sunday to Sunday rental. We find the traffic is not quite as bad as on Sat. We stay in the Corolla area in Buck Island. We really like it a lot!! It is pretty quite, nice beach and shops and restaurants close enough we can walk to them!!!

If you have any other questions just let me know!!
