OK, in the bonehead department:
I made beef stew tonight and as usual, I was planning on eating in the recliner in front of the TV. So what happens..........

I sit down and then put the plate with the bowl on top on one leg... (cue the ominous music)


What happens?


Yes, it slipped off and the next thing I know, I have hot beef stew on my other leg!


So after quickly getting my jeans off with the hot stew, my leg is red, but at least not blistering. So I am sitting here with a cold face cloth on my leg.

Luckily it isn't burned that badly, but talk about bonehead moves!

Ouch! Glad you weren't burned too badly. Hopefully you made enough so you could get another bowl.

OK, here are a couple of questions from this AKL/V first-timer...

Looks like we'll be 5th or 6th floor since we're in a villa. The first post mentions that these floors are a little high to get good animal views. Would love opinions. If it's an issue, we'd go with two regular rooms and request/hope for 3rd/4th floor rooms.

I'd also love to hear about the kid camp. I have six and nine year olds who love animals (hence the importance of our room view). We may or may not make it by 3:00 on Saturday (our arrival day) to take advantage of the Bush Camp, but I'd love to hear any thoughts.

We have only ever stayed at AKL using our DVC points and I loved our view from the 5th floor.

We've always stayed in a DVC studio and I've always loved the view. Last trip I'd booked a standard view but they upgraded us so every morning I woke up to animals!!

Unless you booked either a 1 BR, studio or 2 BR concierge studio, you will be on the 5th floor. I think that your kids will like the 5th floor, my niece and nephew have stayed with me at Jambo House and love the views of the animals from the 5th floor. Of course, they haven't stayed on lower floors so it is all they know, but they do like it.

Hoping all my Jamborinis and Kidanites are surrounded by those you love tonight!

No, we're not staying on points but have booked a 1BR villa. Hmmm...decisions, decisions. It's cheaper for us to be in the villa, but I definitely want best view possible. Darn research!! Of course, we're only there for two nights before switching resorts, so we could definitely just look at it as a recon trip for next time. There's always a next time...
