Is it too long?

I would love to go for two weeks. That way we could take our time and not feel so rushed. Plus that would give us time to enjoy the resort we are staying in and to try different restaurants in other resorts not just the ones in the parks.

We went for 10 days in January and felt too rushed. One day was a full travel day and one day was a half travel day and on the half travel day we kept looking at our watches, worried about leaving the park on time. We'd like to do 12 days next time with the travel days being only that, allowing for 10 days in the parks with a possible rest day in the middle. Money-wise, it makes the most sense for us to do a longer trip every 2 or 3 years than a shorter one more often given that a 10 day ticket is the same price as a 6 day one (or something like that) and that we fly from NY state. If we lived within driving distance I imagine we'd try and go every year for a short trip, but the cost and hassle of flying with so many little kids makes the longer trip better for us. We felt like we really got to settle in too. Our 10 day trip was great, but I think 12 days would be ideal for us.

Our last trip was 12 days and I could have stayed a little longer. 14 days (13 nights) would be perfect for our family. I would rather have the time to have some down time. We get up and go every morning, but I would have liked just one morning at the resort. If you have the time and money, enjoy!

FYI - people thought we were crazy too.

I love my DVC! Our summer norm is 14 days - 10 days at WDW and 4 at Vero Beach. Then we spend a quick 4-5 days during the winter to get a break from NY weather. 10 to 14 days at WDW is long. No doubt about it. But you do get the opportunity to relax by the pool, shop and really smell those roses. When our children were younger we had no choice but to go for 5-7 days because it had to be scheduled in between sports, summer camp, school etc etc etc. Those were fun, fast vacations -- but not necessarily relaxing.

We usually go for 2 weeks at a time b/c of my hubby's crazy work schedule. We usually are in the parks for 10 days! We spend those other days shopping, touring & eating at Disney's other resorts. It's such a relaxed vacation when you have time to take things slower. This upcoming trip will only be for 8 days... I'm gonna really miss those extra days! The TWO week trips will spoil you! Have a fabulous time!

Who cares what other people think? Just go.

My husband and I are going for just a long weekend. Flying down on a Friday, back home on Monday evening. People say, "You're just going down for a weekend? That's all?"

Yes. Yes, we are.
