Is it tacky to wear too much Disney jewelry?

I'm glad I came here for advice. But like a PP said, I've come to a Disney board asking if something Disney is too much! :cool1:

There is a really pretty bracelet on the Disney store website. It's extremely subtle and you probably wouldn't even know it was MM unless you really look. I would not have any problem wearing this to the office. It's actually very classy. I love the one I just bought, but I like this one, as well. (Don't worry, I'm not buying it! All future Disney money is going towards my $319 balance to Disneyworld!)

Ohhh, I like that bracelet!! I sure don't like the price tag though...

I like the bracelet and I think you should wear it if it makes you happy. I think we spend too much time worrying about what other people think. If I saw someone wearing Disney jewelry it would make me happy too, so think about all the other people you run across that you are secretly making smile.

Also, the photo of the woman with all the jewelry was really funny because she could have been my grandmother! We used to go to the Jersey shore, and she (being the typical old Italian lady) would go to the beach completely decked out. Looking at her with the sun shining off all her gold was almost blinding! :rotfl2:

I have been wondering this same thing. I am glad everyone agrees. Right now i am wearing my pick a pearl necklace, pearl earrings and the rind-stone mickey heads DH gave me for Christmas one year.

I have a lot of Disney clothes that i wear a lot too. Every time i hit the local thrift shops i seem to find something. I can dress casual at work so not a week goes by that i don't wear something Disney.

I lost my pick a pearl necklace :guilty:

I guess I'll get another one when I go back, but it's not the same as having the first one.

Ahhhh I'm sorry! I know what you mean. I didn't wear mine for quite a while because i was afraid i would do something to it but i decided to enjoy it.

You'll have to get another one and the earrings to match! :thumbsup2

Look for the really UGLY ones and get nice big pearls. ;)

well, i think that's pretty mean and judgemental. I am assuming that each of those pieces has a special meaning to her. And, frankly, I personally don't care what the fashion police think of the way i dress. I pay for my own clothes...so i get to decide what I wear.

You shouldn't care of what people think about what you wear - but you have to accept that they may be laughing at you :lmao:

I think the bracelet is cute as can be. If it was sterling, I'd be all over it and heck, I'm in my 50's!

I have a Mickey watch, a Snow White watch and a MM necklace. I am HOPING I get a charm for my Kohl's bracelet from DH when we go to WDW in December.

My DD is meeting us down there a couple days after we arrive and she is already setting rules. No Disney purse, mouse ears, overly Disney clothes/jewelry or any type of fanny pack allowed.

I am wondering if I have the guts to wear ALL the above when we go pick her up at baggage claim in the airport. :rotfl::rolleyes1:rotfl:

OH, you HAVE to do it!! What's the point of having kids if you can't embarrass them once in a while!

When I was a teenager, but didn't have a ride home from work, my uncle arrived to pick me up in front of everyone. While wearing a pirate hat. I thought I was going to die!

I almost spit out the soda I was drinking when I read the title of your thread! :rotfl:

Bottom line is that if it makes you happy, you should do it. Life is too short. :goodvibes

Wear what you like. As long as you are not breaking a dress code (like for your employer) then what does it matter how others think?

I think it depends...

Going for job interview... take off the Mickey Jewerly (that applies to Tink Pooh etc...) You want to set a certain image and that should not be "vacation is the most important" even if it is!)

Otherwise just know your "audience" and the impression you want to make.

And if your audience is your teenager.... if it's not the Disney stuff you will just do something else to embarass them... that's your job!:rotfl:

Cute bracelet! I wish they would sell some of those charms individually or make a longer bracelet. That one would be too short for me, but if it fit, I would totally wear it!

Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!!! I think you should wear what you like, from the amount it doesn't sound it would be tacky. now if it were a ring on every finger, several necklaces, less is more.

I am 43 and one of the best things about getting older: I care less now what people "think" of me then I did when I was 17. Also, I tend to put up with less BS:rotfl2:

If yours is large enough the be the first thing people notice about you.... then I'm jealous! :rotfl:

Nope, not me. I wish!!

But my sister's is big enough to choke a horse and I've seen many an eye bug out when they catch a glimpse of it. It usually is the first thing you notice because she has very long thin fingers and a beautiful HUGE emerald cut diamond w/ a trillion cut sapphire on either side. It is absolutley stunning!!! I LOVE IT when someone has the nerve to ask her if it is real!!! :rotfl2: Her response has become that it better be or she will be very upset to find out that DBiL spent that much money on a fake! :lmao: The nerve of some total strangers!! :rolleyes1

I think wear whatever makes you happy. I usually just wear Mickey hoop earrings or Tinker Bell shillouette ones, but I also have a very tactful Mickey bracelet, and a Tinker Bell watch.

I would wear - all together too (just not the watch & braclet on the same arm)

as for the lady in the picture - I kinda think she is the one in the group that wasn't getting wet so everyone who forgot to take off their jewerly hand it off to her to keep it safe

OP, what size ring did you order? I'm finding that mine is far too tight (even though I ordered the same size of my engagement ring that fits comfortably) with all 3 rings together. So am seriously thinking I need to send it back for a bigger size (at least a half size, possibly a full size).

As for your question...meh, if people think it's tacky, it's their problem. lol

My ring was looser than my normal size. I wear a 6.5, but I should have ordered a 6. I have considered going to a jeweler to get it resized, but I don't know if that's possible because of the inscriptions inside. So instead of wearing it on my ring finger, I have to wear it on my middle finger. The little ring chart they have on the website was useless. I couldn't tell a difference between a 6 and 7. I tried wearing it on my ring finger for a day or so, but it kept slipping a bit. I didn't want to take the chance it would slip off completely.

I would definitely send yours back and get the bigger size. You pay all that money and you don't want to be uncomfortable. From what I understand, their return policy is pretty easy.
