Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

I have 3 rooms with dining linked by “travel with” 2 are with the new discount 4 day/4 night ticket package and 1 ticketless package off bounceback. Special offer rooms are standard location and the bounceback is a preferred (all that was offered). Do you think that once I arrive that I could request a standard room in their building, maybe close to them or not just long as we are in the same building. I don’t care about price difference just want location.
There is no room only offer to make my ticketless package cheaper than what I currently have.

You could ask. Make the request in advance though, as you have traveling-with linked rooms the system might be able to do something for you, You can still ask again at the front desk when you arrive if necessary of course, but clearly they would prefer people to be assigned suitable rooms in advance to save the front desk extra work.

How is POFQ for say a 2 and 5 year old?
We loved this resort when my boys were really little. We took the from 15-months and up. The wading pool was great for the toddlers. The oldest loved the little playground. The rooms were plenty big for 5 of us (that trip we had me, DH, DGM, DS (2 1/2) and 6-wks)--plenty of room for us to have the pack and play and all the baby junk we traveled with when we took the baby. I loved how small the resort was and getting to DS was a breeze. If we stay at a moderate, this is our first choice.

The wading pool at French Quarter was replaced by a new interactive splash play area in 2016, which is even more fun.

Even better!!! My boys would've adored that when they were that age! It's been a while since we've stayed at FQ, as you can tell. 😁

I'm not sure why, but we cannot get WDW to link our two reservations. We originally booked a bounceback for December 2 thru 10 and then wanted to add a day in front. No more discounted rooms at FQ under any discount were available at that point so we booked a rack-rate room for December 1st. Both reservations are for the same room category and made by the same lead guest.

We've called a couple of times to get the reservations linked, but yesterday the CM told us she was unable to do it.

Does anyone know why? Or if there's any point to calling again? It'd be very helpful to have the reservations linked so that we could book LLs for the entire trip 7 days before the first check-in.

TIA!

You should still be able to book LLs. Last year we added a separate night onto our OKW stay and it had a separate reservation. It had no bearing on our ability to book LL for the whole stay. It’s as if you have a split-stay, which doesn’t affect LL. It will affect your 60-day booking for dining ADRs but there’s not much you can do about that as they can’t link the 2 reactions.

Might need to be configured as a Continuing Reservation, whereas they might have been trying to assign it as a "Travelling With" (which clearly would not work). Just a guess anyway. The inventory team should catch that the same person is staying under two consecutive reservations anyway, and assign rooms appropriately.

Thank you so much! That's good to know. We already experienced the 60-day ADR situation, but we were able to get everything we wanted so it turned out okay.

Thanks, Andre!

Hi there

I have a bit of a niche question...

We have requested interconnecting rooms (we are a family of 5; 2 adults and 3 children).

If we are lucky enough to get the interconnecting rooms (keeping everything crossed!) is there a way to keep the 2 internal doors open? If I bought a universal door stop for each door would that work?
Now that we are here I just wanted to let anyone know for future reference that the internal doors do not stay open by themselves. You will need to bring a doorstop or use something to prop them open if you want them open for free flow between the rooms.
Hope that helps!
