Well, it's not 100% officially back on. Fiance says it is, but thats because he's assuming finances will be better...I'm just saying it's 90% official just in case:rotfl: I'm glad several people now have told me they came put ahead w/TIW! That puts me @ ease.

I agree. Whenever I have done the math, I always come out ahead with TIW than with the dining plan.

We will be leaving in 40 days to go to AKL Cl for the first time in this resort, I have read several places that the CL is not all its cracked up to be. Anyone else care to share their experiences? I am so excited about the CL room with savana view and bunks....:thumbsup2

Sadly, it's not quite as awesome as it used to be. :sad1: Happily, it's still pretty awesome!! :cloud9:

There have been cutbacks to all aspects of WDW -- many are things that infrequent guests wouldn't even notice.

The CL's have reduced their Lounge offerings, but it's still pretty decent. The breakfast at AKL is as fabulous as it's always been. The 5-7pm and 8-10pm offerings are where CL has cut back, but if you haven't stayed AKL-CL in the past, you won't even notice! :goodvibes

Everyone's expectations & experiences are different. Even with the cutbacks, many of us "veterans" keep booking AKL-CL so that should tell you something! ;)

thanks so much for the kind words, do I need to request a savanah room view with the club, or do all rooms have the view?:thumbsup2

All CL rooms are guaranteed "Savanna View". I believe you have to request bunk beds though. Most of the CL rooms will be located on the 4th floor, Kudu Trail or Zebra Trail, close to the lobby.

Have you spoken with the IPO yet? They're fabulous and can add your room requests to your reservation. Tell Don "Laura says Hi!!" ;)

Hey, I was thinking of you today! The airfare we rushed to get, they extended the Boston sale until this Thursday:laughing: But I'm still glad we got it when we did, it was cheap enough that if heaven forbid we do have to cancel and they charge us $100pp, he says it was worth the risk. See how I', putting all the responsibility on him?:rotfl:

Congrats to you DS's team. You won't miss AKL that much...I love the WL (DH not so much). So much so that I hated :scared1: AKL when we moved there the first time from WL. Afterall, the WL had lake access, boats to the other lake resorts and the MK...you could rent Sea Racers..and best of all - you could walk onto the beach and see the Electrical Water Pagent (which I LOVE :goodvibes). It also has (DH at least thinks so, but it's the only thing he likes about WL) the best bar. You'll feel right at home at the WL as it can be relaxing..just maybe not as much as AKL.

Thanks.....I think...For all of the reason's you've mentioned, I am looking forward to WL. We stayed at WL before (2007) but that was before we stayed at AKL and Kidani. Now that we've stayed there, we may feel the difference going back to WL. I love the animals and the decor of AKL. I love the drums in the background, story time by the fire, did I say the animals??? I love that it is away from everything else and the bus service has been the best we have experienced so far at Disney. Having said that, I do love the boat ride to MK and the ease with which you can access the monorail and the other MK resorts.....I'll be fine....I think....:sad1:

That is how it works at my house!:rotfl:

I'm in good company then:laughing:

He still insists we're all good!

Have to remember to call MS and cancel DDP!

Here's the schedule as of today, could change:rotfl:

12/2 Birthday dinner @ Sanaa
12/3 lunch @ Akershus
12/4 I'm running/walking the Orlando Half Marathon w/friends,eating off site @ Bahama Breeze afterwards.
12/5 lunch @ 50's Prime Time
12/6 I snagged a table for 10 for dinner @ the Wave! Woo hoo! We wanted Kona Cafe@ the Poly, but they could only fit us in @ 7:50pm and we'd miss most of MK EMH
12/7 Lunch/happy hour off site @ Chevy's Mexican
12/8 nothing booked, but it's AK day!
12/9 departure day, Teppan Edo for lunch.

Yup, I guess we're going:rotfl: We must be out of our minds.

ETA:Just wanted to mention if any of you are on the fence on when to get tix MYW and AP price increase Thurs 8/5

:rotfl2: seems logical to me that it is all his responsibility!

I didn't realize that they extended the sale and to think I rushed home last Friday hoping that the good flights were still available.

Sounds like a great itineray! Yep, I think that you are definitely going. :goodvibes

Hmmm ticket increase, I wonder if I should buy the voucher for my next AP.

Did they go up? I haven't seen the news on it. We are getting APs this year too....

It's increasing by $10 tomorrow. I believe they increase all ticket prices at this time every year. It hurts when you buy them but they're still a bargain if you go a lot, IMO.

The price increase was even a twitter post by Breaking News today....:lmao:

Guess it's big news :) I'm sure people are up in arms over it but that's just the way it goes... Plus, it seems as though the only way most people are staying at WDW resorts is with 40% off pins and bouncebacks and other special offers - Disney has to try and make up for that somewhere.

We are staying with points this year and next and bought AP's since it was cheaper...

Got to save a buck everywhere we can...:surfweb:

Oh, totally. I buy APs b/c they SAVE us money in the long run. In fact, with the room discounts, they pay for themselves on the first trip.
We are not DVC - we always book room only, and almost always get a good Passholder rate.
I want to save a buck wherever I can - but I don't blame Disney for trying to make a profit ;)

Most of the time it is NOT cheaper for us to buy AP, but this time it was.... We will be there 3 times with the next 365 days, so it makes it nice.

We usually get the military discount and even when we were there for 10 days it was cheaper to go with the MWR tickets than the discount DVC APs.

This will be our first time with APs, I am kind of excited...:yay:

Agree, Disney is a business and they have a bottom line and investors, so a profit is necessary.

3 times in the next year :cool1: That's awesome.
Not sure for us. I've been twice so far on our current AP. 3 nights and 10 nights. Hoping for two more trips before APs expire. Both will be long weekends. I'm about to die to be back at AKL :headache:
Interesting about the military tix being a better option for you than the DVC APs. I'm not familiar with either but you're smart to have priced everything out. We've gone once in recent memory buying just the MYW tix and it was BRUTAL buying those tix for just 3 or 4 days in the parks :teacher:
