Is it just me or is the DCL website terrible?

Hi all, I'm a Disney parks veteran but completely new to the idea of a cruise, and have decided I'd like to book something for December this year/January next year... not that fussed where to but want to look at options and compare, and I am getting SO FRUSTRATED with the website - I've tried on my phone, and on the computer using both Chrome and IE, and nothing seems to load properly, I can't see options, things freeze/glitch... is it just me? I've always found the WDW website glitchy from my phone but works fine on computer and this is driving me nuts! I've enquired with a couple of travel agents as a result even though I'd rather DIY - Dreams Unlimited got back to me with pricing but didn't explain anything and I'm waiting to hear back from another

I don't find the DCL website any more terrible than other cruise line websites. I know that's not saying much, but it is what it is.

Thanks for your reply... I've never looked at another cruise line website so I guess that might explain why I'm finding it terrible! Cruising wouldn't normally be my thing - only really interested because it's Disney (and I really want to visit Castaway Cay!)

I rarely have a problem with it, either with Firefox on my PC, or Safari on my iPhone or iPad. While there certainly are things I would change and improve, I don’t find it any worse than RCCL’s or NCL’s sites.

I've had issues with booking activities with Firefox. If I open up Explorer then it works fine.

I’ve never had a problem using Chrome on my laptop or safari On my phone or iPad. It always works fine to either check existing reservation, make excursions , etc.

Yeah, it works. But, as far as the user experience goes, that site definitely ranks WAY down on the usability list.

The “Find a Cruise” page is non-functional and won’t load anything at all on my iPhone 7 and iPad. No problems on my Mac. Super annoying because I so rarely use the computer.

Ive not had issues in Firefox. Have you tried going through another source like Expedia or Costco to at least narrow down your choices? You could still book with Disney if you wish (although Id recomment Costco if you have a membership) but just use another site to start the looking process.

I use my iPhone, Microsoft Surface Pro and HP desktop using Chrome (safari for iPhone) and seldom have any issue with the website. I visited RCCL before and didn’t find it any better than DCL. Opening day of cruise offerings can be another beast when everyone is attempting to book online. Since I always use a TA, I never have to experience it.

It's slow and tempermental - just like the My Disney Experience site. The coding is poor AND old (i.e. ancient). Bad combination. I know it is embarrassing to Disney tech folks that domain names still refer to the old go.com structure from the 1990s. It's 2020 and the URL for WDW is https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/. LOL

This is true. The Royal booking website is functional, but not something I'd want to go through all the time (hence, I have a TA). Their Cruise Planner pages are great though. When they first switched over to the new format though... it was unusable.

DCL, meanwhile, is pretty much synergized with the other Mouse sites. So basically as good or bad as you perceive those to be.

I have had problems with the website intermittently. I usually switch web browsers or come back later to see if it is working better. The spinning icon between page downloads is unappealing and I have seen the pop-up that Stitch has ate my webpage one too many times.

I just wish they would let you make all changes via the website instead of having to call a live person and wait on hold for a hour during opening booking day.
