Is it just me or are Walk-Ins Ruining Disney Dinning?

Although it did not ruin my trip, we were at the SCI FI waiting to be seated with our ADR , when a man went crazy! because there was no table, IT was the language he used in front of all the kids that I guess could have ruined someones day.

Is this a serious post? Why would the lack of planning by others "ruin" the experience of eating a meal at a Disney restaurant? Very odd question.

Because I role up to the podium and you hear the "walkies" yelling and crying about not getting into the restaurant. Then I walk up with my ADR and they tell you to walk right in. The other family is giving you that look and you know the storm is coming. The Grandma throws the rascal into overdrive and takes out a nearby Character in front of all the children. Then the dude freaks and starts wrecking stuff. It takes 4 or 5 CM's to restrain the guy, but in the mean time the kids are attacking some old women (who had ADR) in the restaurant and eating her food. The mom wanders off (in a drunken stooper) looking for some TS that will let her sit and have a few more Shirley Temples. This happens to me all the time.

I still can't believe your complaining about something that should not effect you. Since you made your ADR's you did your part, so why worry about others? In my opinion it sounds like you have a huge thing against people who try to walk-in withour ADR's. I agree there should be no reason to cause a scene, however just because a few people do that does not mean everyone who get's turned away does the same thing.

You know that those kids could not have done that if they had been on a leash.

( ducking and running) :rotfl:

You're one of "them" aren't you?

Now I'm just waiting for the thread blaming all the dining problems on those 'darn people' who pay cash for everything. :rotfl:

:surfweb:

Well now, not sure if I feel like a second class citizen yet or not. Just last night we were at EPCOT watching the Grass Roots, and decided to go to the ESPN Club for dinner. On the way, we thought that "what the heck, lets try Cape May" We were able to get in in 10 minutes as ,,,,,yes you guessed it,,,,the dreaded "Walk Ins". To me, part of the fun of going to Disney, is the ability to change plans, and not over plan. We do lots of ADR's but like to do things on the cuff and not feel penned in to a military plan. Don't hate me, and I promise that I don't complain about the prices or if we don't get in, get upset. :cool2:

Thanks for the entertainment. Let's end this before it gets painful and causes me extra work in the violation arena :lmao:

don't even get me started with that.

I think the KTTK cards should just be the Disney Visa and encoded for your stay as well.

I think no cash should be on-sight as it's filthy dirty and is a way for germs to spread.:rotfl2:

My advice is don't worry about everyone else and only worry about yourself,

Good advice - now, if only more posters would follow it ;)

OP, thanks for the chuckle - looks like some readers need to go find their funny bone :rotfl:

wasn't it last year about this time that there was an extremely popular thread devoted strictly to criticizing spelling and grammer errors?

.... well, if you want to get technical.... ;)

:flower3:

No I am not and I am not going to say anything more about what I think of you now, because I don't want to get any violation points. I think a lot of other people here will agree with me about that.

Definitely. I think that it would be a shame for you to receive 'violation' points. :) I miss people when they are in timeout.

The only problem with that is Disney Visa cards are not available to Canadians and I would imagine it's the same thing with guests from other countries, so what would we do?

I'd probably be frustrated too if I bought a dining plan and didn't realize I was supposed to make reservations.

Or if I'd not been there in 10 years and figured I could walk up like I used to, or make same-day reservations.

My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I was making dining reservations for free dining at 180 days out. Imagine - trying to figure out where you are going to eat a half a year from now! Who does that? :-D
