Is it crazy to do MK on Labor Day?

When I made my plans and ADRs, the crowd calendars recommended MK on Monday (because it was closing early). So, I planned on Monday. Of course, with the longer hours, being a Monday, and a holiday, it is not recommended anymore. BUT it fits into our schedule best. I was planning rope drop to mid afternoon. Is it going to be a madhouse? Long standby lines?

I think the Monday should still be fine, especially if you're going for rd. I wouldn't change my plans. It's still better to go to MK on Monday, then the Saturday or Sunday.

we did it last year, was busy but nothing out of the ordinary. Just plan well and you will be fine :)

We did it in 2012 and it was great. We just made sure to hit the longer lines first thing in the morning. For us, that was Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise... Our DS was only 4 so we skipped the Mountains and most of New Fantasyland wasn't open yet (only Storybook Circus).
Didn't make it for rope drop, but got there close to park opening. Even took time to do TS for lunch and dinner. It was a great day! Never felt rushed and didn't have to wait in too long of lines.
I know things have changed in 3 years with crowds and the addition of Magic Bands and FP+ but I'd definitely go back again at that same time.

Labor Day is historically the least busy of all federal holiday weekends. It won't be dead, but it won't be a madhouse either.
