We are going to have to rent our July 2 br ressie at VWL because we are postponing that trip.

200 pts at $10 per point would be $2000. I don't want to trust a personal check, and I have heard horror stories about Paypal "charge backs"; so is a cashier's check the way to go?

Thank you!!!!!

If the reservation / points were within 45 days of expiring, then you would definitely want to ask for cashier's check. Personally, for a reservation 5 months down the road, I'd be inclined to take a personal check. If it should bounce, you would have pleanty of time to cancel or re-rent with no penalty.

But it's your deal...do whatever will make you comfortable.

i think your OK with paypal or ebid.............

Asking for a cashier's check is fine, I think. I tell people that I take Paypal or Cashier's check. Just whatever they are comfortable with. I have had people use both.

We have only rented a few times, but when we did, we let them send a personal check. I figure they are trusting me, I can trust them. I guess if it was a last minute rental I would probably want a cashier's check though.

We're just finishing up what should be a successful rental. The renter paid the deposit (20%) via Paypal, and the balance was paid w/cashier's check. :)

Take anything that U want. If the check is bad,U just cancel the resi. You don't even need to cancel it,just change it back into your name, not theres. The seller of the points are the one's that are in comand. The Only one who can really get ripped off is the buyer. I have not heard of it but I'm sure a seller could sell to several people and not make the resi. If it was short notice like a week or so then I would want a back check. No need to even get paypall involved. The check clears, your golden,if not, repost the points for sale. :moped: :moped:

I personally prefer Paypal for renting, but I have let lots of people pay by check. I have never had a problem--of course, I won't rent to last-minute people. I got burned once last year, and had to use the points myself :teeth: to keep from losing them, so no last-minute rentals for me. I like to make sure I have plenty of time in case something goes wrong. ;)
