Is it 100% true you can use the fastpass after your 1 hour time slot has passed?

Can a CM or a hardcore DL visitor confirm this? im going in three weeks and if we can get Fast passes for Grizzly bear run and space mountain right away after each park opens so we can ride it anytime we want before the day end, that would be sweet ! as with any other ride we can Fast passes to early.

Has anyone been denied, saying the time has expired please get in line like everyone else? or has CM's actually confirmed this to be policy? whats the point of the 1 hour time slot then? preference? Anyway, can someone please confirm this to be 100% accurate, or is it hit or miss due to CM being lenient ,not wanting to start a scene with customers.

- 100% that you can ride a FP during or AFTER the 1 hour window...as long as it's the same day.

- Don't bring yesterday's FP in...the CM's look at the FP.

- Your comment regarding Griz Rapids adds a different wrinkle. Since it's "disconnected", you can pick up a Griz FP & then stroll over to Soarin (or ToT or Screamin') and pick up FP at one of those rides a minute later (thus holding 2 magic FPs :goodvibes ) With minimal planning, riding Griz (or Roger Rabbit in DL) 2-3 times a day with no waits is pretty easy.

- If you haven't read Hydroguy's "rules" thread regarding 1. How FPs work at DLR. & 2. How to use FP at DLR resort during High Season, then read it. Print it. & Commit it to Memory.

If somone doesn't link these prior to day's end, I'll do so.

A couple of questions:

What hotel is your family staying at?

How many nights? (Park Hoppers?)

Have fun. :thumbsup2

They allow late fast pass usage at DLR. Nothing is 100%. But this is about as close as one can get. And it isn't just hit and miss because of the cms' doing.

Has anyone been denied, saying the time has expired please get in line like everyone else?
I am not aware of any reports of denial at DLR like there are at WDW. Doesn't mean there aren't any. Just that I'm not aware of any.

or has CM's actually confirmed this to be policy?
Well cms that post on various message boards have confirmed this to be policy. I have no reason to doubt they are cms even though I don't know them personally. I've never thought to ask at the parks myself.

whats the point of the 1 hour time slot then?
Good question. One that I can't answer except for conjecture. It's similar to "why do they allow hotel guests to go to EE every day it is offered but do not publicize it?" or "Why do they take so many steps to discourage the Electrical parade and Fireworks in the same evening but don't just shut down the turn styles completely and prevent it?"
Disney is wishy washy on a lot of things.

We hardly ever use our fastpasses at the printed times and have never had any issues with cm's about it. We were at DL in Feb for 7 days and would collect fastpasses in the morning to use later in the day when lines were longer. I don't think you'll have any issues with cm's adhereing to the time stamped on the fast passes. Theyw ill look at the date stamp though.

Nothing is ever 100%. Except death maybe...as my daddy used to say. That being said I have never had a problem with it and I have never heard of it being a problem from someone else.

Ditto everything hound said. GRR is disconnected and you can get a second fast pass in CA. HydroGuy's rules rock! A must have especially in summer!

Have fun

Just to second this, it is a major bonus in the summer when you want to ride multiple times. You just stroll over to GRR and pick up a FP, regardless of already having a FP for another ride.

I'll just second it and say we used this strategy last week at DL. We generally arrived as much as 10 hours after the window "closed" on the fast pass. The only issue we had was at Splash Mountain. The CM said that because we arrived late, we had to pat our head and rub our belly at the same time and if we couldn't do it, we couldn't get in. He was obviously joking, and we played along. Otherwise, no CM made any comment about "being late".

Have fun!

So were you able to ride it?

Oh yes. He was obviously kidding and said after we all did it that he would have let us in anyway. He was just giving us a hard time.

You may want to search for Hydroguys Fastpass Rules..many good thoughts.
We never had a problem with being later.

We did it a few weeks ago, never had a problem!

We had fastpasses for Roger Rabbit one day and once we got in line the ride broke down. They gave us fastpasses and told us that it was good all day anyway so just come back. So that CM confirmed what we already knew! :)

Oh and Roger Rabbit is disconnected from the fastpass system too. We were able to get passes right after getting them for Indy.

wow, this is all super duper information to be had :wizard: :cool1:
thanks alot for the info ! hopefully we wont be denied our FP when they expire later in the afternoon lol. but it will be the same day.

Where am i staying and how many days? we will be staying for 3 days off site with hopper tickets. meaning we get one EE i think, ill be buying the hopper tickets at the disney store to get those plastic park hoppers.

What hotel? i have a seperate thread on page one of this section, should be somewhere, debating if i should stay at the CCI, tropicana, or the camelot.

Camelot i got a good rate at, and i love the rooms, Tropicana has a nice jacuzzi, and the rate was 50 $ lower, but for those 50$ more at Camelot, instead of getting a king sized room, its a deluxe king sized room with more trinkets and stuff.

And CCI is more pricey then those 2, but i hear good things about it, its quiet, the rooms are nice, has a VHS player, i was booking for a premium room because i want to splurge on this trip, just this once. and i hear the bathrobes and towels are nice and comfy at CCI, just alot of perks even though its a bit of a farther walk, but were young, so i think we can manage.

Its just 2 of us btw, me and disney gf so no kids or others to slow us down or wait on :P

thanks for the info again ^_^ just 3 more weeks until magic time.

Have a great time, Warlock. :thumbsup2

Be sure you use your EE privilege. (which is why i asked about lodging)

& pick up those FP's early & often. (so you can use them later on in the day :dance3: )

hound :)

On Monday our first fastpass we received was for Space Mtn and at 12:30 we got more fastpasses for Indy. We did not use either of our fastpasses until after 10:00 pm. At one point we had 3 different fastpasses. I collect ours to be used throughout the evening.

This is great info for my trip in september! I do this all the time in WDW and have never had a problem.

Warlock128, you mention plastic park hoppers. Is the disney store the only place to get them? The disney store closest to me does not carry DL tickets anymore. Anyone know where else to get the plastic park hoppers? TIA

We used our fastpasses late all last week - like 10am fastpasses at 11pm. . . they didn't care. . . this has been our experience at both parks in DLR and all four in WDW

We do this same stragety at Disneyland and Calif Adv all the time. We also did the same in Orlando last week. We had no problema at ANY of the 6 parks we used fast passes late at. It worked out great for late afternoon rides as we picked up fast passes throughout the day and then used them in the last afternoon early evening.....

The only time I couldn't use my fast pass was on Jungle Book Cruise in the Magic Kingdon. When I picked the fast pass up the wait was 60 minutes. We waited until about 10 PM to use it and the fast pass line was closed. At first I was mad.......but there was NO line and we walked on the boats!!

Do you happen to know what time they usually close the fastpass lines?

Or does anyone know the average time that fastpasses run out for the day? (preferrably for summer season)
