Is Grandma a Princess or a Pirate? UPDATE 9/28! The Last Suppah! PICS!! Pg. 69!

“NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE THE WAY YOU WANT IT TO BE JENNIFER!!! ALL WE’VE BEEN DOING IS WHAT YOOUUUUUU WANT! NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE YOUUUUURRRR WAY!”
OMG how embarassing

The “shut-up” look goes a little somethin’ like this:
I love the shut up look :rotfl2:

I just giggled and said, “Heehee. Mothers.” And she nodded in agreement. We bonded, she and I.
Remember we all have them :sad2:

When I snapped that picture…the monster screamed out and fell on the floor. He claimed I blinded him…
OMG hilarious :rotfl2:

What a cutie :goodvibes

“Everyone…please be on your best behavior…as we have a Disney princess on board.”
Only in Disney :goodvibes

So, we had all gone back to SSR for some naps before this fine evening of partyin’ it up with pirates and princesses.

Jon and Lexie had dutifully gotten some shut-eye. I love this about Disney. You can exhaust a 12-year-old to the point that he resorts to taking a mid-afternoon siesta. Really, how good do I have Jon trained?

“It’s time to sleep now son…so that we may enjoy some more Disney goodness later.”

And he obliges every time. Gotta love him.

Everyone woke up refreshed and were back out to the busses by 4.

Not only was tonight P&PP, but it was special for another reason.

The motha…

And I…

Were…

SPLITTING UP!!!!

That’s right.

I had made ADRs for Lexie and the motha over at 1900 Park Faire.

Jon and I were headed over to his FAVORITE place to eat in all of WDW:

The Crystal Palace baby.

When we got to MK, I gave the motha instructions on how to get over to the GF.

She didn’t get it.

“Mom…get in that line RIGHT there. Get on that fast moving buggy…and get off at the big white hotel.”

Motha: “Ummmm…come with us. What if I get lost?”

“Again, they’ll bring you back to me. No one else will want to be held responsible.”

I finally shove her off of me and Jon and I head towards the turnstiles.

I had heard that you could get your wristbands starting at 4. It was nearing 5. So, I just hopped in a line without reading a sign…prepared to get my wristband.

Jon kept tugging on my shirt and trying to point somewhere. “Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, MOM….”

Me: “Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon…CUT IT OUT! I’m getting us taken care of.”

Jon: “But mom, I think we need to go…”

Me: “Hush. This is a special night for me…errrrrr, us…now hush and let’s go through.”

Jon: “But, mooOOOOM…”

Me: “Stop IT. For goodness sakes, STOP!”

Then it was our turn to enter through the turnstiles.

Slipped our genuine P&PP tickets into the machine. And I was denied. Flat.

Jon…apparently…had been trying to ummmm…point out the correct line. You know…the ones with the sign directly overhead…where people were actually handing out wristbands. Teehee.

We got through the turnstiles…no thanks to me…and were straight off to CP! (Sans the motha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I love this meal. And it was fantastic as always. The salmon here is to DIE for. Of course Jon stuck to what he knows…pizza and macaroni and cheese. Do we really have to charge them adult prices for macaroni and cheese? I’d pay an in-betweenie price. I really would. Somewhere betweenie a child’s price and adult. Because COME ON people! Disney is making bank on all of our “adult” children. Rant over.

Up to this point in the trip, Jon had refused ALL character interaction. Pronouncing himself too OLD for that.

That was…until we got to CP.

Here he is when we first arrived. His shirt, which was bought for us especially by another VERY special DISser says:

“Judge me by my size, do you???” And then it has Yoda trying to hop on a ride on the back…and Yoda is too short!!!

I looooove this shirt. Sometimes, if you don’t laugh about things…you’ll end up crying!

After our wonderful meal (SANS THE MOTHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I asked Jon what he would like to do. This night was ALLLLL about spending quality time together.

He had been wanting SO badly to see Mickey’s house over in Toon Town. So, we headed over!

After the BIG CHEESE’S humble abode, I got to pick our next activity.

And Jen had only one thing on her mind.

PIRATES!!! ARRRRGH!!!

We decided to grab the train around. And can you believe it? We have NEVER been on the train!

Turns out, it was the last train of the day!

Picture589.jpg

Looking down on Main St. from the railroad tracks!

Picture590.jpg

And looking out towards the entrance!

Picture591.jpg

Looking for my dream resort…

Picture593.jpg

We followed the train around to Frontierland. There was no wait for BTMRR. I tried to cajole Jon, bribe even, but it was a no-go! I guess he still remembered screaming like a girl all the way around last year. (Hey…he’s my kid. I can say he screamed like a girl!)

So, we headed over to Pirates.

Not only were we able to walk right on the ride. But, there were now so few people here that Jon and I got our OWN boat…all to ourselves!!!

It was FANTASTIC!!!!

After emerging from Pirates, Jon and I stopped at our first looting station. New Orleans style beads for all…and I didn’t have to show nothin’ neither!!!

Jon then decided that he didn’t fit in with this crowd…many of whom were so dressed up that I looked like a generic Barbie in the pack.

So, Jon decided he wanted to buy himself a Pirate t-shirt. We hit up the Pirate stop, and procured one lickety split!!

We decided to head over to our new favoritest ride in the world!!!

And on the way we procured some more loot. Still didn’t have to show anything!!!!!!

HAUNTED MANSION baybee!

And again…walked straight on…and were in the stretching room with MAYBE 4 other people.

Picture595.jpg

Dumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdummmmmmm…

What’s that foreboding music??

Oh yes.

The motha called. And she wanted to grab a little seat for the parade.

Fine.

We could re-unite.

So, we began to walk over to Main St. to meet them.

By this time, the park was almost empty. Barely any people!

Snapped a few pics of my future residence on the way over…
Picture1027.jpg

The motha wasn’t near yet. So, Jon and I popped over to Main St. for a few souvies! I couldn’t get Jon to buy this…dang it! Look how cute he is!!!

My favorite pic of our entire trip!!!

After picking up a few things, we made our way up Main St. towards our parade spot.

The Castle!!!

Picture596.jpg

I chose to take the pic of one of the princess signs…since I am one…

Picture597.jpg

Look…almost no one!!!

Picture600.jpg

Here are the appropriately dressed CMs clearing the parade route.

Picture598.jpg

One of the CMs stabbed a child. OK…he was play sword fighting!

Picture603.jpg

We popped a squat and were soon joined by Lexie and the motha. We did procure some icy cold sweetness (ice cream) for the kids after grabbing a spot.

Here’s my Jon…waiting for the parade!

Picture604.jpg

And Lexie!!

Picture607.jpg

After the kids finished their ice cream, we passed out all of our glow bracelets that I had brought along (about 50)…to all of the children around us. I’m telling you…you can really make some people’s day with this little gesture. And it teaches the children about generosity. Lexie even made a friend (a little Snow White princess) who helped pass out the bracelets. AND…it killed time before the parade!!

Here is Lexie and “Jenna” White!

Picture064.jpg

For whatever reason…my pics of the parade didn’t turn out well. So, there are only a few. I’m thinkin’ it’s because of the lighting situation. Ah well.

Hope you can tell who they are.

The parade WAS wonderful though. Lots of good interaction. And…Tinkiebell is in the parade!!!

Picture640.jpg

After the parade, we went and grabbed a spot to view the Fireworks. We sat right by my best friend…dear ol’ Walt!

No one around us! You had elbowroom and everything! No strange lady sitting in your lap!

These fireworks were WONDERFUL! I can’t say enough about them. We all love Wishes of course! But…these were not only visually spectacular…but the story is fantastic! I won’t give it all away…but basically, the bad guys have come to take over the castle, and the good guys need to save it!

After the fireworks, the motha and Lexie were tired. So, they left the parks…and left Jon and I to ourselves once again!

I was getting a wee bit tired, so I told Jon to pick one more thing that he absolutely just had to do. As we would not be coming back to MK again this trip.

Jon picked Buzz. And this time…I think he may have beat me. (Yes Mo…I succumbed!)

I was hoping to catch one more whirl on Pirates, but Jon was beginning to crash and burn too. So, we decided to leave.

On the way out, they were just starting Dreams Come True. Jon and I decided to catch this…as our farewell to the MK!

I do love this show…although their flapping mouths are a little too “Chuckie” for me to enjoy!

Jon and I headed to the busses…and we were one of only 2 families waiting for the bus. As we traveled back to SSR, we began to chat with them…and it turns out they were from Albuquerque, NM!!! Small world! It was their first trip…and their first day! So, I shared some tips! Ahhhh…

We were back at SSR and in bed by about midnight.

It was a wonderful last trip to MK And I HIGHLY recommend doing the P&PP! You can walk on all of the rides, and the extras are awesome! The parade and the fireworks made the tickets worth it all on their own.

And Jon and I had the best time, just he and I (sans the motha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Our last 2 trips to Disney have been fantastic!!! But, we went both times with family. And although good times were had by all, this made me realize that it was time for some mommy and son time…at DISNEY!!! So, I have a secret surprise up my sleeve for my only offspring…and I may or may not be planning it now…heh heh.

Up Next: Our Last Day in the Parks!

Great update, Jen. I'm glad you got some time away from the Motha. Did Lexie enjoy her meal with Cinderella? We did 1900PF the last time we took the girls and it was great, up until the time when DD7 threw up all over the table (and herself). I really felt sorry for the honeymooners sitting at the table next to us! Fortunately, they already had kids, so they understood. :rotfl:

Great Update ! I did P&PP solo in Feb and I agree it is worthi t !!

It really was awesome!!!

Lexie enjoyed it. The motha...not so much. :lmao:

Except...for the strawberry soup. That was a hit!

And  on the princess pukage!

What was Motha's problem??

It was the three cups of chocolate milk! Let's just say that the Cinderella dress she was wearing never made it into our room at VWL. It went directly into the trash can. Also, we tipped the cabby really well!

Looks like you guys had a fabulous time at the party. I really hope they bring it back again this year in May. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Great update. The party looks really fun. Jenna and I want to do it next May. Glad you had a good time with Jon sans the mutha. :cloud9: I love that one photo of Jon where he's smiling. ;)

SPLITTING UP!!!!

We went last year and the firewoks really are spectacular, our parade photos didn't come out too well either as you say I think it's the light!

After the fireworks, the motha and Lexie were tired. So, they left the parks…and left Jon and I to ourselves once again!
Huh? Did they do any rides? Get any loot?????

They did...when they weren't with us. But, I have no idea what they did.

What a fabby night...I'm seriously jealous as I don't see me ever being able to attend a P&PP :sad2: poor me:sad:

Poor Kirsteen! :flower3:

Um Jen, I think I saw a typo in your last update, something about Jon beating you at Buzz????

Love the P&PP, so bummed they didn't have this in August, one of these days I would love to go to one.

How nice to lose, I mean split up temprorarlily from the MOTHA. you had earned a break:hug:

I loved the updates!! It was great that you got to have that time with Jon alone. Will you tell us more about why the Motha didn't like 1900 Park Fare?

I love your writing!

Great update. I def agree the P&PP is worth the price for the parade and fireworks alone!!!
