So, we had all gone back to SSR for some naps before this fine evening of partyin’ it up with pirates and princesses.
Jon and Lexie had dutifully gotten some shut-eye. I love this about Disney. You can exhaust a 12-year-old to the point that he resorts to taking a mid-afternoon siesta. Really, how good do I have Jon trained?
“It’s time to sleep now son…so that we may enjoy some more Disney goodness later.”
And he obliges every time. Gotta love him.
Everyone woke up refreshed and were back out to the busses by 4.
Not only was tonight P&PP, but it was special for another reason.
The motha…
And I…
Were…
SPLITTING UP!!!!
That’s right.
I had made ADRs for Lexie and the motha over at 1900 Park Faire.
Jon and I were headed over to his FAVORITE place to eat in all of WDW:
The Crystal Palace baby.
When we got to MK, I gave the motha instructions on how to get over to the GF.
She didn’t get it.
“Mom…get in that line RIGHT there. Get on that fast moving buggy…and get off at the big white hotel.”
Motha: “Ummmm…come with us. What if I get lost?”
“Again, they’ll bring you back to me. No one else will want to be held responsible.”
I finally shove her off of me and Jon and I head towards the turnstiles.
I had heard that you could get your wristbands starting at 4. It was nearing 5. So, I just hopped in a line without reading a sign…prepared to get my wristband.
Jon kept tugging on my shirt and trying to point somewhere. “Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, MOM….”
Me: “Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon…CUT IT OUT! I’m getting us taken care of.”
Jon: “But mom, I think we need to go…”
Me: “Hush. This is a special night for me…errrrrr, us…now hush and let’s go through.”
Jon: “But, mooOOOOM…”
Me: “Stop IT. For goodness sakes, STOP!”
Then it was our turn to enter through the turnstiles.
Slipped our genuine P&PP tickets into the machine. And I was denied. Flat.
Jon…apparently…had been trying to ummmm…point out the correct line. You know…the ones with the sign directly overhead…where people were actually handing out wristbands. Teehee.
We got through the turnstiles…no thanks to me…and were straight off to CP! (Sans the motha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I love this meal. And it was fantastic as always. The salmon here is to DIE for. Of course Jon stuck to what he knows…pizza and macaroni and cheese. Do we really have to charge them adult prices for macaroni and cheese? I’d pay an in-betweenie price. I really would. Somewhere betweenie a child’s price and adult. Because COME ON people! Disney is making bank on all of our “adult” children. Rant over.
Up to this point in the trip, Jon had refused ALL character interaction. Pronouncing himself too OLD for that.
That was…until we got to CP.
Here he is when we first arrived. His shirt, which was bought for us especially by another VERY special DISser says:
“Judge me by my size, do you???” And then it has Yoda trying to hop on a ride on the back…and Yoda is too short!!!
I looooove this shirt. Sometimes, if you don’t laugh about things…you’ll end up crying!
Here is Jon “participating” in the parade around CP!
Jon with Eeyore!!
Jon and Piglet!
Jon and Pooh!!!
Tigger!
After our wonderful meal (SANS THE MOTHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I asked Jon what he would like to do. This night was ALLLLL about spending quality time together.
He had been wanting SO badly to see Mickey’s house over in Toon Town. So, we headed over!
After the BIG CHEESE’S humble abode, I got to pick our next activity.
And Jen had only one thing on her mind.
PIRATES!!! ARRRRGH!!!
We decided to grab the train around. And can you believe it? We have NEVER been on the train!
Turns out, it was the last train of the day!
Looking down on Main St. from the railroad tracks!
And looking out towards the entrance!
Looking for my dream resort…
We followed the train around to Frontierland. There was no wait for BTMRR. I tried to cajole Jon, bribe even, but it was a no-go! I guess he still remembered screaming like a girl all the way around last year. (Hey…he’s my kid. I can say he screamed like a girl!)
So, we headed over to Pirates.
Not only were we able to walk right on the ride. But, there were now so few people here that Jon and I got our OWN boat…all to ourselves!!!
It was FANTASTIC!!!!
After emerging from Pirates, Jon and I stopped at our first looting station. New Orleans style beads for all…and I didn’t have to show nothin’ neither!!!
Jon then decided that he didn’t fit in with this crowd…many of whom were so dressed up that I looked like a generic Barbie in the pack.
So, Jon decided he wanted to buy himself a Pirate t-shirt. We hit up the Pirate stop, and procured one lickety split!!
We decided to head over to our new favoritest ride in the world!!!
And on the way we procured some more loot. Still didn’t have to show anything!!!!!!
HAUNTED MANSION baybee!
And again…walked straight on…and were in the stretching room with MAYBE 4 other people.
Dumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdummmmmmm…
What’s that foreboding music??
Oh yes.
The motha called. And she wanted to grab a little seat for the parade.
Fine.
We could re-unite.
So, we began to walk over to Main St. to meet them.
By this time, the park was almost empty. Barely any people!
Snapped a few pics of my future residence on the way over…
The motha wasn’t near yet. So, Jon and I popped over to Main St. for a few souvies! I couldn’t get Jon to buy this…dang it! Look how cute he is!!!
My favorite pic of our entire trip!!!
