Is Grandma a Princess or a Pirate? UPDATE 9/28! The Last Suppah! PICS!! Pg. 69!

I've been following your pre-trippie!!!! I just haven't been posting as much.

I loooove your hourly countdown!!! :lmao: :lmao:

And noooo, we're not coming. I decided to save all my money for my Christmas trip. So, I can make it as spectacular as possible for Jon. :flower3:

well...I'm sad I won't get to meet you and Jon...but at least you have a good excuse ;)

Sunday, June 1st.

After our late night the previous evening, none of us woke up at the alarm. Which was set for 7:30 AM. Yea…not gonna happen.

We all stumbled out of bed at around 9:30. Even the motha was too exhausted to go burn calories. We got ready as quickly as possible, and were out to the busses by about 10:45.

Here are Lexie and the motha waiting for the bus. Lexie procured this hat the evening before at the P&PP.

Look, the motha eats…

We finally pulled up to MGM, our destination for the day, at about 11:30.

I have never had the chance to fully explore MGM.

And yes…I’m still going to call it that. Hollywood Studios sounds too boring to me. Too official. Not at all like a Disney theme park. You don’t see me changing my name from Jen to Queen Elizabeth. That’s because people have a hard time with name changes. They don’t know what to call it.

“Ohhhh…we’re going to MGM…errrr, Hollywood…errrr…MG Studios??? You know…that place with the big hat!”

It’s like having more than one kid. (Which I only have given birth to one…but I have enough nieces and nephews to go around. Want one???) Then you go to call that kid, and you call him/her by the wrong name.

“Jon, Maddy, Isa…come here. Whatever your name is. COME HERE!”

By the time the kid gets old enough to understand speech, it thinks its name is some weird combination of names from all of his/her family members. Something like: Jonmaddyisabelllexiekaia.

Anywho…the point is…we were off to MGM on this day. I have not had the pleasure of partaking in the enjoyment of this park before. On our last trip, we ventured to MGM for the first time. At the worst possible time.

Geeks Weekend.

Otherwise known as Star Wars Weekend to the geeks who love it.

Big mistake. Big. (Ala…Pretty Woman. Remember that scene???)

We couldn’t even breathe we were so packed in there. But, it ended up being worth it. Once. Jon is a HUGE SW fan. Huge. The biggest. And he has some of his best Disney memories from that day.

Here’s a little flashback:

Jon and his favorite dark dork…

And Jon with the dude who plays Dork Mall…AKA Darth Maul…

Last year, during that weekend, we got exactly nothing done the whole day. We had a few meet and greets, grabbed a viewing of VOTLM, and watched the stunt show. Other than that…it was weird people in freaky SW costumes, rubbing their smelly bodies on ya. All day long. SCORE!!!

This year, I wanted to see a bit more.

We walked through the turnstiles, and were greeted by one of the coolest sights ever!!!

(Ignore the family in my picture. We don’t know who they are)

Picture212.jpg

We headed straight to TSM. I was sooooo excited to try this ride. The wait time in the stand-by line was ridiculous. The FPs were all gone. So, I broke out Jon’s GAC. I had rarely had to use it this trip. And I don’t feel bad for doing it. Jon can’t stand in lines for 70 minutes. He doesn’t have that kind of stamina or the ability to put up with all of the people and stimulation for that long. So, I used it. And it got us on to the coolest ride I have ever been on in Disney. OMGoodness! If you haven’t done it…do it now. Run. Swim. Bike. Crawl uphill…in the snow…both ways!!!

Click below for my slide show!!

After leaving TSM, we decided to head to Muppet 3-D.

On the way, Lexie met a few friends.

As we continued on…I snapped a few pics of the scenery.

As I snapped this picture…the motha got all excited and in a fluster!

“OMG Jennifer! It’s New York!!!”

Me: “OMG…you’re kidding right???”

Mom: “It’s New York. It’s the Brooklyn Bridge and everything!”

****Please remember, my mother is a New Yorker. Born and bred.

Me: “Mom, that’s San Francisco.”

Mom: “Nooooo. No it’s not. That’s New York and the Brooklyn Bridge!”

Me: “Ummmm…noooooo. That’s San Francisco and that big RED bridge is the Golden Gate Bridge.”

Mom: “Uh-uhhhhhhhhhh.”

That’s right. She gave me the whiney ‘uh-uhhhhhhhh’…said in the whiney 6-year-old voice…the same voice where they go: “Naneenanee****oooooo” or “Ummmmummummummummmmmmmm. I’m teeeeelllllinnnnnggggg!”

Me: “Wow. And they gave you a college degree and everything.”

We moved on to our destination…with the shameful New Yorker motha:

Picture618.jpg

The show was cute. Probably not a must-do. But cute!

After our 3-D Muppet excursion, the chilluns’ were begging for sustenance. And I needed me a Diet Coke to cure the headache given to me by the motha and her geography lessons.

Jon picked Toy Story Pizza Planet for lunch. A repeat of last year.

Some shots from the window upstairs:

After lunch, we decided to head over to an attraction we had missed last year as well. Indiana Jones.

Just as we entered the auditorium last year, it began to rain. And by rain, I mean, dump buckets of water and blow parts of trees down.

We had THOUGHT that we would try to make a run for it out to the busses. Only to get caught in the Indiana Jones dump shop.

Here’s a little flashback of Jon and his cousin Kaia. Don’t they look happy???

100_0967.jpg

We were stuck in there for almost 2 hours. In the worst rainstorm I have ever seen.

Needless to say, THIS year, Jon was excited to see the show…and not have a repeat of last year.

And here’s the dump shop…where we were trapped last year. I almost didn’t recognize it without the buckets of rain and palm trees flying by!

Upon exiting Indiana Jones, we had a plan. A plan to take care of a few more must-sees before our evening reservations at…

Up Next: The Last Suppah!

Am I first, Jen????

What a great day at MGM! I refuse to call it DHS as well. It will always be MGM to me. I haven't done the Indy show in many years. Not sure if we'll do it next month or not. I don't think my girls will be that interested in it. Last time we took them, I think we barely made it to lunch at MGM. We did Playhouse Disney, Little Mermaid and the Muppets. And that's about it. Not much for little ones there!

By the way, since when did they build such large hills in NYC??

By the time the kid gets old enough to understand speech, it thinks its name is some weird combination of names from all of his/her family members. Something like: Jonmaddyisabelllexiekaia.

::yes:: I myself am an only child. And yet my name was still like this - a combo of my dad's sister, my mom, the dog and me. :rotfl:

And it got us on to the coolest ride I have ever been on in Disney. OMGoodness! If you haven’t done it…do it now. Run. Swim. Bike. Crawl uphill…in the snow…both ways!!!

::yes:: I totally agree!

:lmao: :lmao: Great update. the motha's lack of NYC knowlege is killing me.

It's only bad if you start calling them by the dogs name...not that I know anyone who does that (TinkJimmy):rolleyes1

You know…that place with the big hat!
That's not what it's called?! :faint: Next, you'll tell me its sister parks aren't The Big Castle Park, The Big Ball Park and The-Park-With-The-Safari-Ride-And-All-The-Real-Live-Animals!

:yay: Leo's so excited to see this - he only recently saw the first movie.

I think there would some kind of uproar if we had an orange bridge here, it would look kinda weird. The motha is too darn funny!
