I posted this in the summer discounts thread and after seeing the anemic discounts and the increased prices at WDW I went to browse better bidding.com just to see whats been popping up. Well I found, POFQ, CB, CS and AKL all showing up as priceline express deals. So maybe their jacking up room rates isn't so beneficial after all.

If you look at the forum page it shows the other resorts at WDW.

As far as I knew, you were always able to shop for Disney hotels on Priceline, but they were pretty consistent with what you could book online. If the express deals are buying the rooms in bulk, well that's not Disney, that's Priceline.

Disney has always been on the discount websites. Sometimes you can find discounts on them that you can't find direct because the discount websites buys a block of rooms to sell. It generates profit for them pretty easily because the Disney discounts almost always sell out. Other times it is exactly the same as Disney.

They have been on the discount sites but not on priceline express deals that I know of so this is different. The question is is it Disney using priceline toget rid of inventory or a third party. As I said before in the summer discount thread 10 plus years ago All Stars showed up on priceline for a few weeks but it was a third party seller and I am guessing Disney shut that down really fast. This is now CS, CB,AKL, and POFQ which make me "guess" it's Disney putting these rooms in inventory but really just a guess!

Why can't it be Priceline buying blocks of rooms that have occupancy for less than 45 days out and selling them? I don't see any rooms that have dates far off into the future that were confirmed to be Disney resorts.

I don't think Disney would be doing it. For one POFQ they don't have to. If Disney wanted to unload specific resorts in a short period they could just cut the middle man and offer deals direct or through their many many authorized travel providers.

That's probably what it is...last minute surplus that Disney is unable or unwilling to sell at the going rate.

It also could be a Wholesaler who is providing the rooms to priceline. The Hotelbeds and Tourico's of the world are very shady with inventory. This would be caught very quickly though.
